Memorial Auditorium Building
February 21, 1949
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
called session on the above date at 12-05 A.M. in the Council Room of the
Memorial Auditorium Building, with the following members present:
Harold Jones Mayor
C. A. Spragins
Edward G. Kadane
E. J. Wininger Aldermen
J. R. Ray
John C. Coffey
B. C. Hunter
G. D. Fairtrace City Manager
Kearby Peery City Attorney
Mayor Harold Jones announced this meeting had been called for the
purpose of considering matters of great importance to the City of Wichita Falls.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that during the absence of the City Clerk,
G. D. Fairtrace be appointed Acting City Clerk for this meeting only.
Motion seconded by Aldennan Wininger and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 1484
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1337, PASSED AND APPROVED
THE 20TH DAY OF APRIL, 1942, PRESCRIBING FARES TO BE CHARGED FOR TRANSPORTING
PASSENGERS ON BUSES, ABOLISHING THE USE OF TOKENS FOR BUS FARE AND PROVIDING
II
FOR THE RIGHT OF TRANSFER.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that Ordinance No. 1484 be approved
and passed as read on its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Kadane, Wininger, Ray, Coffey and Hunter.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Hunter that the Council hold a Public hearing at
1-30 P.M. March 9, 1949, on Ordinance No. 1484, and that said Ordinance
Igo. 1484 be published in The Record. News paper in accordance with the provisions
of the law.
Motion seconded by Alderran Ray and carried.
Moved by Alderman Wininger that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
