Manorial Auditorium Building
August 16, 1948
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
called session on the above date at 5:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building, with the following members present :
Harold Jones Mayor
C. A. Spragins 4
J. R. Ray Ald er men
John C. Coffey
B. C. Hunter 0
G. D. Fairtrace City Manager

Mayor Jones stated this meeting had been called for the purpose
of considering various matters of importance to the City.
Moved by Ald erm an Spr agi ns that the Board of Ald erm en approve and
authorize the execution of a contract by and between the City of Wichita Falls
and the United States of America for the purpose of furnishing water to
Sheppard Air Force Base upon the terms and conditions as recited in the
said contract, and approve the water rate schedule recited therein; and to
authorize and empower Mayor Harold Jones, or City Manager G. D. Fairtrace,
to execute the said contract for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.
Moved by Ald erm an Coffey that the Board of Aldermen au th on z e
the City Manager to employ the services of John P. Ruhmann of Lubbock
Texas for the City of Wichita Falls.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize
payment of the sum of $3,688.16 to the Wichita General Hospital for charity
patients for the month of July, 1948, and to direct the City Clerk to draw
a warrant for the same, upon like payment by Wichita County.
Motion seconded by Alderman Coffey and carried.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Ray and carried.
