Ordinance Amending Section 62-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Wichita Falls to Designate 711 Indiana Avenue, Gorsline’s
Fashion Livery Stable/Liepold Clothing Store, as a Wichita Falls
Landmark and Providing for Codification
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission of the City of Wichita Falls
recommended that the building located at 711 Indiana Ave., Wichita Falls, Texas, be
designated as a local landmark; and ,
WHEREAS, the Landmark Commission has deemed this property is espe cially
worthy of protection, preservation and recognition based upon historical, architectural,
cultural , and geographical significance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Section 62-5 of the Code of Ordinances, of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby
amended to add subsection (35) thereto, which will read as follows:
“(35) The former Gorsline’s Fashion Livery Stable/Liepold Clothing Store
located at 711 Indiana Ave., Wichita Falls, Texas fur ther described as the South half of
Lot 12, Block 163, Original Townsite.”
2. This ordinance amends the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls
and is intended to be part of said Code. Accordingly, the provisions of said Section
may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention.
