The Board of Aldermen,of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, raet in
called session on the above date at 7-30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Room in
the Memorial Auditorium, with the following members present:
W. B. Hamilton, Mayor
C. A. Spragins
K. C. Spell
E. J. Wininger Aldermen
Melvin B. Evans �(
A. Jay Eastham
Henry B. Nabers, Assistant City Manager
Kearby Peery, City Attorney
Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk
Mayor Hamilton stated this neeting had been called for the purpose
of considering various natters of importance to the City.
RESOLUTION NO. 22

At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, raade and entered on February 9, 1948, W. B. Hamilton,
Mayor of said City was authorized and directed to convey by special warranty
j deed to the Texas Electric Service Company, a private corporation, for the
i consideration of $25,000.00, two tracts of land located in Wichita County,
Texas, and more particularly described in said resolution, to which reference
j is hereby made, and it has been brought to the attention of the Board of
iAlde m►en that said land has been surveyed since said resolution was made,
and that a corrected description of said tracts of land has been _Wade.
THEREFORE, at a called meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, there was present the following:
W. B. Hamilton, Mayor, and C. A. Spragins,
K. C. Spell, E. J. Wininger, Melvin B. Evans,
and A. Jay Eastham, Aldermen.
The following amended, resolution was moved, seconded and unanimously
adopted.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, that W. B. Hamilton, Mayor of said City, be and is hereby authorized
and directed to convey by special warranty deed to Texas Electric Service Company,
a private corporation, for a consideration of $25,000.00, the following lands in
Wichita County, Texas, to wit:
The following tracts or parcels of land out of John A. Scott Survey
No. 10, Abstract 302, and more particularly described as follows:
Tract 1: Beginning at a bronze raonument 218.3 feet East and 234.91 feet South
of the NW corner of the NE 1/4 of John A. Scott Survey No. 102 Abstract 302, said
monument being also the SE corner of a 0.67 acre tract of land described in that
certain deed recorded in Vol. 280, Page 363, Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas;
thence S 89 deg. 43 min W along the South line of said 0.67 acre tract of land
passing its SW corner and continuing; on the same course, in all 272.35 feet to a
bronze monument being the NE corner of a certain 0.78 acre tract of land described
as Tract No. 2 in a deed recorded in Vol. 171, Page 175, Deed Records of Wichita
County,, Texas; thence S 18 deg. 07 min W along a SE line of said 0.78 acre tract
161.73 feet to a bronze monument for corner; thence N 62 deg. 45 min W along a

128.9 feet to a bronze monument for corner; thence S 79 deg. 29 min E 134.4 feet
to a bronze monument for corner; thence S 89 deg. 45 min E 264.93 feet to a
bronze monument for corner; thence N 02 deg. 30 min E at 143.12 feet a bronze
monument being the most Southerly SW corner of Texas Electric Service Company
property; and continuing on same course in all 528.41 feet to a bronze monument
for corner; thence N 02 deg. 29 itin W along Texas -Electric Service Company
property line 533.8 feet to the place of beginning and containing 14.742 acres
of land, including all those certain tracts of land described in deeds as
recorded in Vol. 377, Page Ia8, and Vol. 171, Page 175, Deed Records of Wichita
County, Texas, which are excluded from the above tract.
Tract 2: Beginning at a bronze monument set in West line of right-of-gray of US
Highway 281 where the same intersects the South line of Lot 3 Block 10, South
Park Addition to the City of Wichita Falls; thence S 89 deg. 42 min W along
the South line of Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block 10, at 155.78 feet pass the SW corner
of said Lot 5 and continuing on same •course in all 222.23 feet to a bronze
monument set in East line of a 14.742 acre tract above described; thence S
02 deg. 30 min. W along the East line of said 14.742 acre tract 143.12 feet `
to a bronze monument set for its SE corner and an ell corner of this tract;
thence N 89 deg. 45. min W along the South line of said 14.742 acre tract
264.93 feet to a bronze monument set for a corner or same; thence S 00 deg.
09 min W 46.7 feet to a corner of a chain link fence for a corner of this tract;
thence N 89 deg. 54 min E along said chain link fence 244.5 feet to an angle in
same; thence N 73 deg. 17 min E along said chain link fence 151.96 feet to a
bronze monument set in the South line of Lot 6, Block 10, South Park Addition;
thence S 89 deg.-42 min W along the South line of said Lot 6, 55.35 feet to a
bronze monument set for its SW corner; thence N 01 deg. 09 min E along the West
line of said Lot 6, 130.05 feet to a bronze monument set for its NW corner;
thence N 89 deg. 42 min E along the North line of Lots 6, 7 and 8, Block 10, i
South Park Addition 155.22 feet to a bronze monument set in the West line of the
right-of-tray to US Highway 281; thence in a Northerly direction following a
curve to the right with a radius of 2904.9 feet along said right-of:•ray 15.03 `
feet to the place of beginning and containing 0.613 acres of land.
That said Mayor is empowered to conclude said sale and deliver said
deed upon the payment of the purchase price thereof.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the above and foregoing Resolution
be adopted and passed as read.
:Motion seconded by Alderman Eastham and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Spell, Wininger, Evans and Eastham.
Nays: None.

Mr. Moore, representing the Traynham Motor Sales, came before the
Council, seeking permission to install a gasoline pump on the sidewalk near the
building line in front of their place of business at 605 Lamar St., whereupon
the matter was deferred to a later date, however, Alderman Evans desired to go
on record as favoring the issuance of the permit to the said Traynham Motor
Sales, since it will be impossible for him to attend the meeting April 12th.
Moved by Alderman Wininger that permission be granted to certain
local Army officials to drop leaflets over the City from an airplane on
National Army Day.
