The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
called session on the above date at 7-30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium, with the following members present:

Mayor W. B. Hamilton stated this meeting had been called for the purpose
of considering various matters of importance to the City,

AD! ORDINANCE MAKING AP:RO:iIATION FOR SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOV RNMENT
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1947, AND E4DING SEPTEKBi2 30, 1948.
Moved by Alderman Evans that Ordinance No. 1445 be approved and
passed as read on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Eastham and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spravins, Spell, Wininger, Evans, Baber and Eastham.

AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING AND FIXING THE TAX RATE FUR THE USE
AND SU??ORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOV,04MENT OF TH-E, CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TSXAS,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE INTz;AiEST AND SINKING RU14D FOR THE' FISCAL YEAR 1947-48,
AND APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE, AND PROVIDING FOR
COLLECTI,Z OF ALL ANNUAL OCCUPATION TAXES PAOVID:ED BY STATE LAW.
Moved by Alden-an Eastham that Ordinance No. 1446 be approved and
passed as read on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Aldermen Wininger and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Spell, Wininger, Evans, Baber and Eastham.
Nays: None,.
Moved by Alderman Spell that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
granting of a permit to Joe Adair Electric Company to erect an electric sign
between the curb and the sidewalk at their place of business located at 1602-
9th St. for a period of one near, providing the sign is located in accordance
with the recommendation of the City Electrical Injpector, and under the
direction and supervision of the City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried.
