"AN ORDIIAIIC_J by the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Wiclri.ta Falls, Texas, authorizing the issuance of bonds in the
principal sum of $500,000 designated as 'CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
7 XAS, FIRST IC1tTGA E ,1ATc;it'10FKS SYSTj� H.EV�1JUE I, )ROV-11UST
BONDS, SI��tIES 1;471 (being the unissued balance of a total
authorized issue of $3,500,000 bonds authorized at an election
held on April 11, 1944, for the purt)ose of payin- off, refund-
ing and cancelling*, $351,000 'City of Wichita Falls, Texas, Water-
works System Improvement Revenue Bonds' , dated October 1, 1940, and for
the purpose of purchasing additional water pcwers, riparian rights,
im1proving, enlarjinj: , extendin.- and repairing such system at a cost
of not exceeding 3,149,000, as authorized by the General Laws of the
State of Texas, particularly Articles 1111 et seq., Revised Civil
Statutes of 1925, as amended); providing that said 1500,000 bonds
shall be issued for the purpose of purchasing additional .cater
Dowers, riparian rights, improving-, enlarging, extending and repair-
ing the City's waterworks system; prescribing the form of bond, in-
terest coupons, and certificates of registration; pledging; the revenues
of the City's Waterworks System to the x.ayrrent of principal and interest
of the bonds, after providin,�� for the expenses of operating; and main-
taining said system; further securing; said bonds by the first mortgage
on all the properties comprising* the City's entire 11aterwor:cs System,
acquired or to be ac-mired, as provided by the terms of that certain
Trust Indenture dated as of the lst day of May, 1944, including; all
supplements thereto heretofore or hereafter `riven, to secure the
entire authorized issue of $3,500,000 revenue bonds; enacting provisions
incident and relating to the subject and purpose of this ordinance; and
declaring* an emergency."

The Minutes of the regular meeting held June 9th, 1947, were read and
approved as raad; likewise the Minutes of the called sessions held June 23, 1947,
July 3, 1947, and July 7, 1947, respectively, were read ar:d approved as read.
Attorneys Major Hoffman and Leslie Humphrey appeared before the Council
urging; them to grant -)ermissicn to the Gulf oft & Refining Company- to erect a
gasoline filling station on the corner of 9th & L-mar Streets. Much discussion was
had, whereupon the following motion was made:

adoption of the Resolution disallowing further perriits for the erection of filling
stations within a certain area in the down-town business district, bo reac?nd.ed, and
that the Board of Aldermen grant permission to the Gulf oil & defining Coi.Ipany to
erect a filling station on the said corner of 9th & 1'amar Streets.

be appointed to serve on the Tax Equalization Board of the City of Wichita Falls
for the year 1947.

pa:,,ment of the sum of ¢,',12.00 to H. J. Anderson, City Tax Assessor & Collector, for
par lent of delinquent taxes on Lot 2, Woodland 1 ark, for 1942} and Prior years,
and beinj the pro--)erty of I'i:rs J. :1. Dean; the mason for. such �-a �ment being; that
the city ta:~: office erroneously certified the above ;mentioned taxes as having been
,paid in a Certificate issued Jul- 1st, 1946; and further to direct the City Clerk
t,o draw a warrant for the wine payable cut of the Tax. Certificate Fund Cash, .,hich
fund has been prey, o?zsly provided for correction of like errors.
