Min 04/04/1947 364 ';lic hit a Falls, Texas Memorial Auditoriumn April 4, 1947 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session at 7:00 o'clock P. 'lit. on the above date in the Council Room in the Mlemorial Auditorium, with the following members present: W. B. Hamilton, Mayor C. A. Spragins, J. W. Fitzpatrick, E. J. Wininger, Aldermen 'telvin B. Evans, A. Jay Es wham, G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager T. A. Hicks, City Attorney Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk Mayor Hamilton announced this meeting was called for the purpose of consummating the deal w-ith Wm. E. Huff and others for the purchase of Spudder Ball Park. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the City Manager be authorized and directed to advertise for bias for the letting of a three year commercial oil and gas lease covering approximately eighty acres of land at Lakeview Cemetery. 'potion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. `,loved by Alderman Eastham that the City Manager be authorized and directed to purchase the necessary land of Wm. E. Huff and others as required for Spudder Ball Park for consideration of $18,OOO.00, plus the assumption of taxes, and to order the City Clerk to draw a warrant for the same, payable out of the Park Fund. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize payment of $4000.00 each to T. A. Hicks, City Attorney, and Thelbert Martin, Assistant City Attorney, for special legal services rendered in connection with the condemnation procedure in Archer County, for the acquisition of necessary lands for the new water reservoir in said Archer County,and legal work in connection with the issuance of water revenue bonds for improvement of the water system of Wichita Falls, and further to order the City Clerk to draw warrants for the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried. Voved by Alderman Evans that the meeting be adjourned. ':lotion seconded by Alderman Eastham and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
