The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular
session on the above date at S o'clock P.M. in the Council Room in the Memorial,
Auditorium, with the following members present:

The Minutes of the regular meeting held September 9, 1946, were read
and approved as read; likewise the Minutes of the called meetir�g held October
7, 1946, were read and approved as read.
The question of restricting the sale of alcoholic beverages to a
certain area within the city limits again came up for discussion by the public.
The following persons presented petitions to the Council designating

represented the Wichita Falls Planning & Zoning Commission; Attorney W. E. Fiul
gerald represented citizens interested in East Scott Street; B. B. Greever, tz—
Chairman of the Wichita County Legal Control Council; Attorney C. C. McDonald
represented citizens interested in other sections of the City; and A. T. Taylor
presented a petition requesting that the Homewood Heights Addition in the colored
section be eliminated entirely. The petitions were given due consideration by
the Council and ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk.
Moved by Alderman Eastham that the new Water 'Reservoir in Archer
County be officially named Lake Kickapoo.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried.
Moved by Alderman Evans that the action of the Council of May 6, 19461V
refusing to grant permits for the erection of drive-in aft filling stations in
certain areas be sustained and that the Board of Aldermen refuse and reject the
application of the Gulf Oil Corporation for a permit to erect a drive-in filling
station at 9th & Lamar Streets.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Eastham that the Board of Aldermen designate the
next regular Council meeting to be held November 11, 1946, as a time to conduct
a public hearing of the proposed Ordinance granting a franchise to the United
Gas Corporation.
