Ordinance Appropriating $131,590 of FEMA Funds Received
Pursuant To Hazard Mitigation Grant DR-1791-009 For Acquisition
And Mitigation Of Property At 6071 Kiel Lane to the Hazard Mitigation
Grant Account, And Authorizing The City Manager And Mayor To
Execute All Documents Necessary To Accept And Administer Said
Grant
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received approval for funding under the
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program authorizing a reimbursement of up to 75% of eligible
project costs for acquisition and demolition of 6071 Kiel Lane, which received more
than 50% damage from the July 2008 flood;
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to assist such victim; and to complete clean
up of the damaged property;
WHEREAS, the federal government offers a financial assistance program to
accomplish these tasks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The sum of $131,590.00 of FEMA funds is hereby appropriated for the
purposes of the flood mitigation grant from FEMA Grant DR-1791-009 to the Hazard
Mitigation Grant Account.
2. The Mayor and/or the City Manager or their designees are hereby authorized
to execute all documents necessary to accept and administer the aforementioned grant.
