Min 07/26/1945 i 212 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium July 26, 1945 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in called session at 4:00 o'clock P. ICI. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium, with the following members present: C. A. Spragins, E. J. Wininger, T.I. Ralph Hyer, Aldermen i 0. G. Stephens, G. D. Fairtrace, City 'tanager T. A. Hicks, City Attorney Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk Loved by Alderman Stephens that Alderman W. Ralph Hyer be elected Mayor Pro tern for this meeting. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize a refund to E. E. Givens in the amount of 019.07 on account of home- stead exemption for the years 1940-41-42, with provisions that the said refund shall be applied against his 1943 and 19" taxes, and further to order the City Clerk to draw a warrant for the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried. Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize Mayor W. B. Hamilton to execute for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls the contract as read, by and between the City of Wichita Falls Independent School District for the collection of school taxes for the period ending June 30, 1946. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the request of the American Legion for permission to conduct a carnival on the Iowa Park Road and being inside the city limits, be refused and denied. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen grant request of Emmett & Moral Rogers Motor Company for the removal of one city parking meter in front of their place of business, providing said Emmett & Moral Rogers Motor Company shall pay to the City of Wichita Falls an annual fee of $45.00 for the said parking meter space. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. 213 Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize and direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept the sum of $106.86 of W. M. McGregor as delinquent taxes in full covering Lot 12, Block 7, Kemp Addition, for 1944 and prior years. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the Board of Aldermen authorize and I direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept the sum of $43.77 of i Stephens Lumber Company as delinquent taxes in full covering Lot 2, Block 7, i Westside Highland Addition, fir 1944 and for years. Motion seconded by Alderman#g#rand carried. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the board of Aldermen authorize and direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept the sum of 6180.75 from Gordon T. West as delinquent taxes in full covering Lots 2 to 14, inclusive, Block L, and Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, Block G, all in Kemp Fair Park Addition, for 1943 and prior years. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen authorize and direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept the sum of $305.76 of W. P. Ferguson as delinquent taxes in full covering the East 60' of Lot 30 Block 101, Barwise & Jalonic Addition, for 1944 and prior years. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize and direct the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept the sum of $40.00 of F. P. Avis as delinquent taxes in full covering Lot 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 10, Lakewood Addition, and further to authorize Mayor W. B. Hamilton to execute for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls a joint release with other local taxing bodies to the said F. P. Avis. Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the Board of Aldermen approve the proposed contract as read and recommended by the City Manager by and between the City of Wichita Falls and Hare & Hare for the preparation of a complete city planning; i e, preparation of two base maps of the city and major street planning, study of parks, schools and recreation facilities, etc., for a con— sideration of $11,500, according to terms and agreement set forth in the said above mentioned contract, and to further authorize Mayor W. B. Hamilton to execute for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls said contract with Hare and Hare. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. Moved by Alderman Spragins that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. The board of Aldermen then adjourned. READ AND APPROVED this the 13th day of August 1945.
