Henderson, City Clerk Mayor Hamilton announced the purpose of this meeting to be con- sideration of various matters of importance to the City of Wichita Falls. The proposed Ordinance No. 1399 was read to the Council, whereupon City Manager G. D. Fa _rtrace recommended to the Council that said Ordinance No. 1399 be approved and passed. Moved by Alderman H,ver that the Board of Aldermen authorize the City Manager to comply with the State Statute with reference to salary schedule of the police and fire departments which was recently enacted by the State Legislature. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Wininger that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the City of Wichita Falls to furnish free gratis lights for Shudder Park for use of Sheppard Field ball club effective April 1, 1945, continuous throughout the remainder of the 1945 baseball season; and further direct that the same shall be paid out of the Park Fund as a furtherance of the city recreational program. voting no.Motion seconded by Alderman Baber and carried; Alderman Fitzpatrick Moved by Alderman Hyyer that the Board of Aldermen authorize and direct W. T. Macy Company, Special Tax Collector of the City of Wichita Falls, to proceed to collect delinquent taxes of Vlhite's Pharmacy, located at 1.800 Harrison, also the personal delinquent taxes of Floyd Dean, and further to authorize the said V;. T. Macy Company to employ such means as they may deem advisable and necessary for the collection of such delinquent taxes above outlined. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. 183 Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize and direct the City of Wichita Falls to pay a monthly sum of $25.00, beginning; April 1st, to Nell Court, Assistant Welfare Worker, as additional remuneration only for services rendered to both the City- and County, in addition to her salary now paid by the said Wichita County. Motion seconded by Alderman Baber and carried. Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the City Tax Collector to accept the sum of $120.20 from Wayne Somerville v as payment in full for delinquent taxes covering the Last 100 ft. minus 3, Block 143, Original, for the .years 1927 to 1937, inclusive. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried; Alderman Fitzpatrick voting no. Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the City Tax Collector to accept of John C. Thompson the sum of $56.29 as payment in full of delinquent taxes covering Lot 11, Block 110, Floral Heights Addition, for the years 1927 to 1Q44, inclusive.
