The Board of Aldermen of the City of T"Jichita Falls, Texas, met in
called session at 13:30 A.T1. on the above date in the Council Room in the
i4emorial Auditorium with the following members present:

The Minutes of the regular meeting held January 8th were read and
approved as read: likewise the Minutes of the called session held. January 25,
1945, were read and approved as read.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen approve for pay-
ment the sum of $174.19 to V1. E. Huff and the City National Bank of Galveston,
independent executor of Afary Garbade Estate, the same being final payment and
discharge of a certain water main contract previously entered into by and
between Huff, Mytinger & VIalker and the City of tidichita Falls, later assigned
to W. E. Huff and the City National Bank of Galveston, executor of the Flory
Garbade Estate, which assignment has been filed for record in the office of
the City Clerk; and further to authorize the City Clerk to draw a warrant for
the above amount and deliver the same at such time as the release discharging
the City of. Wichita Falls from further liability has been properly executed and
delivered to the City Clerk.

Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen authorize
Mayor VAT. B. Hamilton to execute for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls
a contract with Milton Katz for the leasing of all of that portion of Front
Street west of the west line of Indiana Avenue and extending to the Big jflichita
River, the same being the dead end of Front Street, for a period from February
15, 1945, to February 15, 1946, for a consideration of $150.00; $75.00 of which
shall be paid upon the execution of the contract, the remaining $75.00 -to be
paid July 1, 1945.

Moved by Alderman VJininger that the Board of Aldermen authorize
delinquent tax adjustments and order the City Tax Collector to accept the
following amounts as payment in full for taxes covering certain properties
for certain years as hereinafter stated:
J. ,!i. Bland - Lot 1, Block 26, Fairview Addition for the years 1930 to 1934,
inclusive, the sum of �10.71
Stenhens-Truitt Lumber Co. - Lot 17, Block 21A, Highland Addition, for the
,years 1931 to 1943, inclusive, the sum of $43.21

Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.
The request of Mr. Wilson for the closing of that portion of the
dead end of Barwise Street was discussed by the Council, whereupon the follow-
ing motion was had:
Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the 6ity Manager be authorized to
enter into negotiations with Mr. 14ilson with respect to the closing of Barwise
Street and report back to the Council.

called session at 8:00 o'clock P. H. on the above date in the Council Room
in the lifemorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

Mayor Hamilton announced a quorum present and announced the purpose
of this meeting to be the consideration of -accenting certain land located in
Wichita Falls as a city park offered by J. S. Bridwell, V�Ichita Falls, Texas,
and surveying other park and recreational projects within the City
?loved by Alderman Hyer that the following described land offered by
J. S. Bridwell be accepted by the City of Wichita Falls:
Eight and 72/100 (8.72) acres of land out of S.P.R.R.
Co. Sur. No. 1, Abst No. 281, Wichita County, Texas, de-
scribed by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit:

honor of the donor.

By common consent, City I'sanager G. D. Fairtrace was instructed to
start negotiations with landscaping concerns to ascertain the cost of
developing and improving Bridwell Park.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that llrs. C. E. Beavers be elected to the
Planning & Zoning Board.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the City Council request the City Planning
& Zoning Commission study the feasibility of a memorial and recreational program
for Wichita Falls in honor of the men and women who enter the armed services
during World ?Var 2 from this vicinity and report its findings to the City
Council.

all of 10,1. Block 211 Original from the years 1930 to 1943 inclusive.

Moved by Alderman Hyer that approximately 189 acres be purchased from
J. P. Dugan, Archer City, Texas, at a cost of $37.50 per acre in connection
with the new lake project. The City is also'to pay approximately 50.00 Probate
Court cost and the expense of bringing the abstract to date.
