The Board of Aldermen of the Uity of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 7:00 o'clock P. _: . on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

In the absence of 'iayor W. B. Ilamilton the following motion was made:
I1oved by Alderman Hyer that Alderman Spragins be elected 'Mayor Pro
tem for this meeting.

Mayor Pro temKSpragins announced a quorum present and that the Council
would proceed. with its regular order of business.
'ihe :,Minutes of November 20th were read and approved as read:
Cecil Long and A. M. Dave,iport, members of the Police Department,
presented a petition to the Council bearing approximately 49 signatures of the
employees of the Police Department requesting a raise of 10% in salaries; and
likewise is. Davis of the Fire Department presented a similar petition reouest-
ing the same raise in salaries for the employees of the Fire Department.
Cecil Long also presented a petition bearing approximately 70 signa-
tures o - the citizens of a'ichita Falls endorsing the Police Department petition
and recom::ending that the Council grant the requested raise in salaries of the
Police Department.
The petitions were read to the Council by the Uity 'Manager, whereupon
the following motion was made:
roved by Alderman Stephens that the petitions be referred to the City
11anager for study and consideration and make his recommendation to the Council.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried.
`_oved by alderman 13aber that the Council approve for payment the bill
of Vvichita General Hospital in the amount of W6.34 for charity patients for
the month of November and authorize and order the Uity Ulerk to draw a war--rant,
in payment of the same, upon a like payment by Wichita County.

In accordance with a previous petition referred to the City ":tanager,
:,Ir. Fairtrace reported. that a recent conference with Mr. James, 'Manager of the local
transportation company, the information disclosed was that the bus company is
making a study of the 1-ast Side transportation with the idea in view of pro-
viding additional bus service for that section of the City.
Moved by Alderman Saber that the Board of Aldermen authorize and �
order the City Tax Collector to accept the sum of $353.49 as payment in full c
for city taxes for 1943 and prior years covering the following described
property belonging to T. A. Litteken:

Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of+Aldermen authorize and order
the City Tax Collector to reduce the taxes of L. L. Deaton from $190.77 to
$143,16 for 1944 and prior years covering Lots 1 to 7, Block 2, D&hr, and 12.17
acres, Abstract 701, E. A. Austin Survey.
motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried.
.gloved by Alderman Stephens that the ]"card of Aldermen authorize and
\ order the City Tax Collector to reduce the personal taxes of L. ':`. Fritz from
N\ $95.20 to $64.40 for 1933 and prior years.
Motion seconded by Alderman Baber and carried.
'Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen approve for payment
the sum of $75.00 to "Aerle Waggoner for services rendered in connection with the
condemnation proceedings of land for the new water reservoir in Archer County,
and likewise payment of $50.00 to Rich Ramming for similar services for the con-
demnation proceedings in archer County.
Motion seconded by alderman Wininger and carried.
