Memorial Auditorium
October 30, 1944
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present:
W. B. Hamilton, Mayor
C. A. Spragins,
E. J. Wininger,
W. Ralph Hyer, Al dercaen
0. G. Stephens,
G. D. Fairtrace, City Manager
T. A. Hicks, City Attorney
Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk
Mayor Hamilton announced a quorum present and that the Council would
proceed with the regular order of business.
The Minutes of October 23rd were read and approved as read.
Moved by Alderman Wininger that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
City Manager to purchase 2413 acres of land from Mrs.E. IN. Hunt for a considera-
tion of $35.00 per acre, aggregating the sum of $84,455.00; said land being
acquired for the new water reservoir in Archer county, and further to authorize
the City Clerk to draw a warrant in payment of the same.
Motion seconded by Aldema n Hyer and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen authorize and
instruct the City .Manager to transfer the sum of $100,000.00 from the Water
Improvement No. 5 time deposit in the First National Bank and a like amount
from the Cater Improvement No. 5 time deposit in the City National Bank to the
regular Water Improvement No. 5 checking account in the City National Bank.
Motion seconded by alderman Spragins and carried.
ORDINANCE-No. 1394
AN ORDINANCE 1AKING APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERW ENT
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1944, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1945.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that Ordinance No. 1394 be adopted.as read
and passed on its first reading.
vote: Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried by the following
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Wininger, Hyer and Stephens.
Nays: None.

Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Hoard of Aldermen award the annual
audit of the books of the City of "ichita Falls for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 1944, and the edichita General Hospital to J. B. Allred & Co.
for a consideration of $1,595 inclusive of the Wichita General Hospital, and
further to authorize the Gity Manager to execute a contract with Allred & Co.
for the same; it being expressly understood that the said J. B. Allred & Co.
has agreed to f urnish separate invoices designating the charges respectively
for both the City and Wichita General Hospital audits.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen authorize a tax
refund of $5.00 to Mrs. Fannie Wehunt on account of double payment, and
further authorize and order the City Clerk to draw a warrant for the same.
motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman 4+ininger and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
