Min 06/19/1944 83 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium June 19, 1944 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session at 8.00 o'clock P. ^% on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium, with the following members present c', B. "amilton, Mayor C. A. Sbragins, J. V," Fit zpat ri ek, E. J. ?`.Tininger, Aldermen C. G. Stephens, Garland Franks, Acting City Manager T. A. Hicks, City Attorney Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk Mayor W. B. Hamilton declared a quorum present and that the Council would proceed with the regular order of business. The Minutes of the regular meeting held June 12th were read and approved as read. The Minutes of the called session held June 12th at 11:50 P.T,!, were read and approved as corrected. The request for permission to wade in Lake Wichita was again discussed by members of the tip.d.chita County Helath Unit, Water Superintendent A. J. Gates and members of the CO-uncil, whereupon the matter was postp6ned for thirty days. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen approve and authorize payment to TRichita County the sum of $169.42, being the City's portion of the maintenance of the 1 ichita County Venereal Ward for the month of May. otion seconded by Alderman Spragi.ns and carried. Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen authorize issuance of chauffeur's licenses to L. V. Ford, E. A. Lavorn and S. D. Finley. Motion seconded by Alderman I"rini.nger and carried. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen authorize issuance of chau ffeur's license to R, H. Herman. Motion seconded by Alderman Wini.nger and carried. 84 Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen waive that portion of the Building Code which restricts the erection of b;?i.ldines of the type proposed by the W Clothiers at Indiana and Eighth, requiring the installation of a sprinkler system, provided, however, that the said 80 Clothiers furnish the City Engineer with complete plans and specifications and state in writing all the pertinent facts as proposed in the remodeli.ng of the building, and, if same meets with the approval of the City Engineer, he is then authorized to issue a permit. Motion seconded by Alderman Spraeins and carried. ?.loved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the City 4Nater Department to put into force and effect the new water rates as provided in Ordinance No. 1381, effective July 1, 1944. Motion seconded by Alderman Wininger and carried. The Acting City Manager was instructed by the Council to write a letter of thanks to Jimm Ynger, Manager of the Wichita Theater,for his generous offer to donate . rcooling system to the City for use in the Auditorium, and so state the reasons for non acceptance. ?Moved by Alderman Gtephens that the meeting be adjourned. -`otion seconded by Alderman Spragins, and carried.
