The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. V. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial A1.iditorium Building with the following members present:

The Uinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Marion Barrett appeared before the Council stating that certain
restrictions in the ordinance governing, the installation of floor furnaces
actually conflicted with the proper installation of floor furnaces in certain
newly constructed houses in the west portion of the Marlborough Addition due
to the elevation, and requested the Council to make exceptions in this instance.
Moved by Alderman Fitznatrick that the Council instruct the City
Engineer to investigate the situation with reference to proposed floor furnace:
installations in the west portion of the Marlborough Addition and to make such
recommendations as may be necessary to remedy the situation, including, necessary
amendments to the ordinance, if any, and further that the Council take .immediate
action upon the recommendations by the City Engineer.
Votion seconded by Alderman -Dragins and carried.
Henry Courtier presented to the Council a written complaint alleging
that the residential structure located at 907 Holliday Street extends 11 inches
too close to the street.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen instruct the City
Engineer to investigate the complaint of Henry Courtier and report his findings
to the City Attorney, who in turn shall report to the Council at the next
regular meeting what action, if any, should or may be taken.

B. F. Arnold of 17th and Holliday Streets presented a verbal complaint
to the Council stating water had and would continue to flood his property due to
a certain concrete dam which has been construction on the property belonging to
Ir. Litteken, and requested the Council to take some steps to remedy the situation.
The matter was discussed by the Council, whereup the @ounci.l instricted
the City Manager to have the City Engineer make such changes at once as are
necessary to remedy the situation and for the City Manager to report to the
Council at its next regular meeting the results obtained.

issuance of chauffeur's licenses to L. H. Tubbs and Herman Scott.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.

Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen approve the bill of
Wichita County in the amount of $156.55 for operating expenses of the Venereal
Ward at the Wichita County Farm during the month of December, and further auth-
orize and order the City Clerk to draw a warrant in payment of the same.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize Mayor Fnod
to execute a contract bin behalf of the City by and between the City of Wichita
Falls and 191 ton Katz for the leasing of a certain property now unwed by said
city to the said Milton Katz,.as described in said contract executed January 31,
1944, and placed of record in the office of the City Clerk. it

Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Hoard of Aldermen authorize and order
the City lax Collector to accept payment of iil. Leland Smith's 1943 city taxes as
based upon the 1942 adjusted valuation as set forth in the following schedule:

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize the pur-
chase and construction of *,s-21 one ton chlorine rack�at the water plant at an
approximate cost of $1,500.00, and further authorize the calling for bids for
the construction and erection of the same.

grant oermission to the General lbzi.11s, Inc. for the erection of a oermanent
platform across Burnett Street where the old wooden platform is now located.

the City Clerk to nay the water bill of the Boys Club amounting to 977.00 out of
the park Fund, and further to order the Chief Clerk of the Water Dent to bill
a1.1_ futrare monthly water bills of the said Bovs Club to the park Dept, and the
same to be oaid out of the nark Fund.
