Memorial Auditorium
January 3, 1944
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

J. V. Fitzpatrick,
J. W. Hunt, Aldermen

Garland Franks, Acting City Manager
Thelbert Martin, Assistant City Attorney

The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
A petition signed by all oviners of the taxicab coy mp nni,es operating in
the City of Wichita Falls was presented to the Council requesting them to amend
the taxicab ordinance so as to permit the taxicab companies to raise the price
of taxicab fares. After some discussion the matter was referred to Assistant
City Attorney Martin for an opinion as to the legality of the Council granting
the request as contained in the petition.
Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen authorize the issuance
of chauffeur's license to R. E. Cox.
'Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize issuance
of a chauffeur's license to Holly R. Filson.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
The bill of Wichita County, amounting to $208-S7 for upkeep of the
venereal ward at the County Hospital for the month of November, was presented to
the Council by the City Clerk, whereupon the Council directed the Clerk to con-
tact the County Auditor for a more comprehensive statement.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the board of Aldermen approve for pay-
ment the bill of J. B. Allred & Co. in the amount of $1,250.00 for auditing the
records of the City of �-ichita Falls for the fiscal year ending September 30,
1943, and likewise a bill of the same firm amounting to $200.00 for auditing
Wichita General Hospital for the same period, and further to authorize and order
the City Clerk to draw warrants for the same with instructions to bill Wichita
County for one half of the sum charged for auditing the General Hospital.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the
City Clerk to draw a warrant in the amount of $750.00 in payment of the purchase
price of Lots 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block 156, Original, when and at such time as the
properly executed deeds have been delivered to said City Clerk.

RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE
Sanitary Sewer Improvements
Wichita Falls, Texas
Docket Number Tex. 41-167
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
having heretofore entered into a contract with Flick & Gillespie of Wichi.ta
Falls, Texas, known as Contract Number One and being known as Sanitary Sewer
Improvements, Docket Texas Number 41-167, and
1VHEREAS, the construction -of this contract covering the entire project
has been completed in accordance with the plans, specifications and approved
change orders and so certified by the engineer,
NOW, THREFCRE, BE IT RESCLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERPEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TtwXAS, that this project be accepted as completed as of January
3, 1944, and used for the purposes for which it was constructed.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the above and foregoing resolution be
adopted and approved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Fitzpatrick, Hunt, Hyer and Baber.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen accept the audit report
of J. B. Allred & Co. covering the fiscal year ending September 30, 1943, with
instructions to Acting City Tanager to make as many changes in the various
departments as outlined in the audit report as are feasible, further with in-
structions to the City Clerk to make as many clerical changes in his department
as outlined in the audit report as are feasible.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen authorize and
order the City Tax Collector to cancel all taxes on certain property now belong-
ing to the 'Vichita Falls Independent School District, and being the East 75, of
Lots 12, 13 and 14, Block 157, Original, and the West 1/2 of Lots 12, 13 and 14,
Block 157, Original.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order
delinquent tax adjustments, both personal and real, as set forth in the follow-
ing schedule:
