The Board of Aldermen of the City of 1 ichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 5:30 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

Moved by Alderman Spragins that Alderman J. W. Hunt be elected Mayor
Pro tern for this meeting.

r The Minutes of the regular meeting held December b, 1943, were read
and approved as read.

Moved by Alderman Baber that chauffeur's licenses be granted to Henry
E. Whittaker, Donella F. Garrison, Jesse T. Kelly and Clois M. Hull.

Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of aldermen authorize Mayor Pro
teg-unt to execute a quit claim deed to Ralph Mathis, Marjorie Mathis, Vivian
Garhson, Edith Chenault and Ella Merle Bristol to Lots b, 7 and 8, Block 216,
Original; the purpose of this execution being to release in full the judgment
in case of Wichita Falls vs L. H. ;Mathis, No. 3791, District Court, Wichita
County; said judgment having been rendered on February 24, 1909.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen approve pay-
ment to Kemp, Peckham and Harrell, intthe amount of $522.07 being the amount due
from April 1, 1942 to April 1, 1943, by virtue of a certain water main contract
executed by and between the City of Wichita Falls and J. A. Kemp et al, and
further authorize the City Clerk to draw a warrant in payment of same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
Moved by Alderman Baber that the request of Morgan Gillum, -I4anager of
the Marchman Hotel, for a temporary refund of taxes be denied.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.

Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen approve for
payment the taxes of Hamilton-Martin Investment Co. and being the taxes assumed
by the City of Wichita Falls by virtue of a certain contract with the Hamilton-
Martin Investment Co. in the purchase of water mains, stoma and sanitary sewers
in the Country Club Estates Addit io ; said taxes to be paid only upon the basis
of 1936 adjustment value and wit0enalty and interest, and further authorize
and order the City Tax Collector to accept payment on that basis, also authorize
and order the City Clerk to issue a warrant payable to the City Tax Collector
for payment of the same upon the above mentioned basis only.

Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen approve tax refund
in the amount of $3.60 to Lars. F. M. Tatum on account of overpayment, and further
authorize and order the City Clerk to draw a warrant- to discharge the same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.

order delinquent tax adjustments, both personal and real, as set forth in
the following schedule.
