The Board of Aldermen of the City of _4ichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at8:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in
the Iemorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

The Minutes of the regular meeting of November 29, 1943, were read
and approved as read.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
City Manager to advertise for bids for the construction of an addition to the
Airport Building for the purpose of housing the Weather Bureau and the CAA.
Motion seconded by Alderman Baber and carried.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that chauffeur's licenses be granted to
Jewell B. Rai,4ey, Willie A Meadows and Arthur G. Earp.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen disapprove and
deny the issuance of chauffeur's license to Paul Albert 'ilks.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.

City �,Iana.ger, J. A. Giddings, Jr., reported that a representative of
a division of the engineers representing the United States Government had re-
quested the City to sub-lease the quarters now being occupied by the Military
Police to the Government for a consideration of 41.00 per year; whereupon the
Council authorized the City manager to execute a contract with the Government
to the best of his judgment wherein the City would derive the greatest benefit.

Moved by Alderman Baber that the City Manager be authorized to execute
a contract for the purchase of Lots 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block 156, Original at a
consideration of $750.00.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.
Mayor Hood appointed Aldermen 0. G. Stephens and W. Ii. Hunt as a com-
mittee to serve in conjunction with the City Manager and City Attorney for the
purpose of conferring with the County Commissioners and to meet with members of
the IU chita General Hospital Board regarding a certain contract previously made
by the Hospital Board for the leasing of the old Cranfill home for a nurses home.
Moved by Alderman Baber that the City Manager be authorized to have
printed approximately 12000 circulars for the distribution with water bills for
the purpose of informing the public relative to the recently passed anti-noise
ordinance.
Iotion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen accept recuest of
Miss Overta Wyatt for the payment of taxes on the old Studio Hotel at a valuation
of $4,500.00 for the year 1943 and, since the hotel was destroyed in or about the
month of -flay 1942, only pay 50% of the 1942 valuation, and to authorize and order
the City Tax Assessor and Collector to accept payment of taxes on that basis.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen approve and ratify the
action of the City Manager in granting a temporary permit to the Cedric Burgher
Construction Company for the blocking of the sidewalk and 1/3 of Seventh Street
east of Ohio Street for the purpose of remodeling the old Studio Hotel, and to,
further authorize the blocking of the above described during the construction of
the building subject, however, to the requirements of the City Engineer.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried.
Moved by Alderman Hyer that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
