Min 11/15/1943 1110 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium November 15, 1943 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present: P. Hood, Mayor C. A. Spragins, X J. 14. Hunt, �. Ralph Hyer, Aldermen J. M. Baber, J. A. Giddings, Jr., City Manager T. A. Hicks, City attorney Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk Mayor Hood announced a quorum. present. ORDINANCE NO. 1376 AN ORDINANCE A-1,EN7ING SECTION 6-1509.2 OF' THE CODIFICATION OF ONDI- NAILES OF THE CITY OF NICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, 1941, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1315 PASSED AND APPROVED ON JANUARY 6, 1941, BY CHANGING THE TERM OF CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE AND THE FEE PAID FOR SAME. Moved by Alderman Hyer that Ordinance No. 1376 be approved as read and passed on its third and final reading and declaring an emergency. �rtotion seconded by Alderman Hunt acid carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Hunt, Hyer and Baber. Nays:: None. • Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of aldermen approve for payment the bill of Van Lumber Company in the amount of $1,260.DD covering their invoice dated October 1, 1943, and further authorize and order the City Clerk to immediately draw a warrant in payment of the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried. Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of aldermen authorize issuance of chauffeur's licenses to Horace 0. Skeen, Wyatt S. Johnson, Chester L. Daven- port, Elvey Simpson, Paul B. Lammers and Jaye Smith. "lotion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. i I 1111 I i i ORDINANCE NO. 1377 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4-702; (427) OF THE CODIFICATION OF ORDINANCES OF TIE CITY OF IUCHITA FALLS, TEXAS, 1941, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE 140. 1315 PASSED AND APPROVED ON JAATUARY 6, 1941, CHANGING THE AMOUNT OF THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE CHARGED FOR A PERMIT TO OPERATE A DANCE HALL ivITHIN THE CITY OF V'�ICHITA- a FALLS AND DECLARING AN UIERGENCY. - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1377 be approved. as amended and passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman, Baber and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Hunt, Hyer and Baber. Nays: None. The City Manager gave an interesting detailed report of his attendance at the Aviation Conference recently held in Oklahoma City. Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen authorize the pur- chase of four new motorcycles for the Police Department and authorize and order the City "lerk to draw a warrant in payment of the same. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Doard of Aldermen approve payment to Wichita General Hospital in the amount of $1,598.95 for September charity patients upon payment of like amount by a+ichita County. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. Moved by Alderman Baber that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
