The Board of Aldermen`of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

Mayor Hood declared a quorum present.
The Minutes of the regular meeting held October 18, 1943, and the
called meeting held October 26, 1943, were read and approved as corrected.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the proposed ordinance requiring
payment of certain fees for sanitary inspections of all wholesale and retail
food distributors and drink dispensers be tabled.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Hunt, Baber and Stephens.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen grant temporary
permission to Duncan & Lambert to operate a roller skate rink at 1306 Scott St.
for a period of two weeks pending investigation of the sanitary conditions by
Lt. Anderson of the City-County Health Unit.
Potion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried.
OiDINANCE NO. 1372
Ali ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING AND FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE USE
AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL COVERNNT OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND
PROVIDING FOR THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND FOR THE F BCAL YEAR 1943-44 AND
APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR. THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE, AND PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION OF
ALL ANNUAL OCCUPATION TAXES PROVIDED BY STATE LAVA'.

passed on its third and final reading.

The Council instructed the City Manager to proceed withthe purchase of
tear and sick bombs and to coer with the County Judge as to the distribution of
a certain quantity of such bol necessary for the local defense guard.

Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize issuance
of chauffeur's licenses to Maurice Criswell, Theran B. Simpson, Ted Bogue,
Millard E. Smith, Aubrey E. Culver, Thomas M. Flatt, Hershel A. Marsh, and Clinton
E. Knight.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the application of Ernest C. McConnell
for chauffeur's license be rejected and denied, and further that the chauffeur's
license of Reuben E. Lankston be and is hereby revoked in compliance with
recommendations of the Judge of the-Corporation Court.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen authorize issuance
of a chauffeur's license to Louis T. Yancey upon the condition that the City
Clerk secure any additional information that the Chief of Police may have regard-
ing character, etc, pertaining to said Yancey, and if no additional objections
other than already stated or furnished then the City Clerk shall issue a license
to said Yancey, otherwise the license shall be refused and denied.

ORDINANCE NO. 1376
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-1509.2 OF THE CODIFICATION OF -ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OFICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, 1941, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1315 PASSED
AND APPROVED ON JANUARY 6, 1941, BY CHANGING THE TERM OF CHAUFFEURS LICENSE AND
THE FEE PAID FOR SAME.
Loved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1376 be approved as read and
passed on its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Hunt, Baber and Stephens.
Nays: None.

City Manager to proceed with the calling for bids for the purchase of 3300 feet
of 2J inch fire hose.
