The Board of Aldermen of the 0i.ty of 'Aichita Fall s , Texas, met in
called session at 3:30 P. R. on the above date in the Council Room in
the 74emorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

Mayor W. P. Hood announced the Council would dispense with the
reading of .the N.Uinutes of the previous meeting, due to the short time in
which the Council had to consider emergency matters to come before the Body
at this time.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the application of A. D. Cory to
solicit advertising for the Southwest Jewish Chronicle be refused and denied.
Motion seconded by alderman Hunt and carried.

ING PROVIS ONS INCIDENT AND RELATING TO THE SUBJECT Aim PURPOSE OF THIS ORDINANCE;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Hunt that Ordinance No. 1365 be approved and passed
as read on its third and final reading, and declaring an emergency.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and. carried by the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Hunt, Fitzpatrick, Hyer, Baber and Stephens.
Nays : None.

Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen concur in the
action taken by the City Manager and `oichita County Health Unit in calling a
halt to the city recreation program and other steps already taken in meeting
the threat of spreading disease, more particularly polio, that the Council issue {
an appeal to operators of garbage trucks, also appeal to owners of any truck to
make them available to the City Garbage Division; that the Council instruct the
City Manager to inaugurate twice weekly pick-ups of wet garbage and as frequently
as possible pick-up household trash and eliminate the picking up of grass cut-
tings, weeds, tree and hedge clippings until the emergency has passed, and that
the Council earnestly appeal for the cooperation of the citizenship in packing
of wet garbage and trash by provision of fly proof type containers and the
wrapping of all wet garbage in newspapers, and that the Council concur with the
recommendation of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Wichita County Medical
Society.
Motion seconded by Aldeman Stephens and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, ib.k2mxkxixc, Hunt, Hyer, Baber and
Stephens.
Nays: Alderman Fitzpatrick.
Moved by alderman Stephens that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by alderman Hunt and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
