June 28, 1943
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the above date in the Council Room in
the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:
W. P. Hood, Mayor
C. A. Spragins,
J. W. Fitzpatrick, X
W. Ralph Hyer, Alderman
0. G. Stephens,
J. A. Giddings, Jr., City Manager
T. A. Hicks, City Attorney
Geo. T. Henderson, City Clerk

The Minutes of the regular meeting held June 21, 1943, were read and
approved as met.

Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
issuance of a dance hall license to be located at the Community Swimming Pool
for colored people at 500 Roosevelt Street, when and at such time as all
sanitary and electrical requirements have been complied with.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.
I RESOLUTION
d THAT, Whereas the City of Wichita Falls and the Federal Works Agency
have entered into an agreement for sewer improvement project in the City of
I Wichita Falls, under Texas Docket No. 41-167 to which each contracting party
j has agreed to contribute certain sums of money, and
a Whereas, it is contemplated that the portion of the cash to be con-
tributed by the City of Wichita Falls to said project will be approximately
$40,000.00, which the City of Wichita Falls desires to make available for use
of said project, and,
Whereas, it is necessary for the City of Wichita Falls to transfer
funds to said project from the Water Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
That, George T. Henderson, City Clerk, be and he is hereby authori-
zed to transfer cash from the City Water Department account to the Sanitary
Sewer Fund #2, under Texas Docket No. 41-167. Said transfers to be made at
such time and in such sums as is necessary to pay the portion of the cost
which is to be paid by the City of Wichita Falls.
Moved by Alderman Stephens that the above and foregoing resolution
be adopted and passed as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried by the following
vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Spragins, Fitzpatrick, Hyer and Stephens.
Nays: None.

Moved by Alderman Stephens that chauffeur's licenses be granted to
Horace Conn Anderson and Luther L. Cooper.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board of Aldermen authorize and
order the City Clerk to refund the sum of $16.80 to 0. S. Rogers for homestead
exemption covering Lot 7, Block 87A, Highland Addition, for the year 1942.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.

Responsive to the request of the Council that the City Manager investi-
gate the claim previously made that weeds were being allowed to grow on Lot 10,
Block 169, City Manager J. A. Giddings, Jr. , reported that the owner of said lot
had been contacted who said she had been unsuccessful in finding someone to clean
up the premises. The City Manager stated he had furnished the name of a party �
whom she could contact for such work, and it is believed the matter will be
attended to.
The City Manager reported that the contract by and between the City
of Wichita Falls and the Independent School District and Junior College would
soon be coming up for renewal ancr discussion, and it is his opinion the col-
lection rate should be increased, whereupon the Council requested the City
Manager to enter into negotiations upon a 2% basis for collection charges. -

Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen authorize
and order delinquent tax adjustments, both personal and real as set forth
in the following schedule:
