The Board of Aldermen of the City of '�-Iichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session at 8:00 o'clock P. MI. on the above date in the Council Room
in the Memorial Auditorium Building with the following members present:

The Ainutes of the regular meeting of April 26th were read and
approved as corrected.
I1oved by ,lderman Hunt that the Board of Aldennen grant a permit
to Martin Purdy, sponsored by the Disabled Veterans Organization, to operate
a carnival at the rear end of the Ball Park for a period of three weeks be-
ginning April 4, 1943, providing proper sanitary facilities have been in-
stalled.

Moved by Alderman Spragins that chauffeur's license br granted to
Charles Leonard Hawkins.
Motion seconced by Alderman Hunt and carried.
Ptoved by alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen revoke chauffeur's
license of Hayden Leon Sanders.

'loved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Alderman approve and
order 'T. T. ;lacy & Co. to file suit against F. S. McMullen and Myles O'Reilly
;state for collection of delinquent taxes, with provisions to defer filing
suit against Myles O'Reilly Estate for a more careful study and investigation
of the same.

City '_tanager J. A. Giddings; Jr. reported for the Committee consist-
ing of the City Manager and City Attorney recently appointed by the City
Council to confer with the ''i ichita County Irrigation District officials and
Leslie Humphrey, Attorney, for certain citizens of the East Side Gardens, to
the effect that an agreement has been reached whereby the City of Wichita
Falls would assume the cost of one-third of the necessary expenses of approx-
imated cost of k1,500 to "�2,000 to turn in water for the Last Side Gardens,
with the provision that the City Engineers be allowed to superintend con-
struction of said installations.

the verbal agreement made by and between the City Manager and City Attorney
with the V°ichita County Irrigation District as above outlined.

'.loved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of hldennen accept the highest �
bid and approve the sale of 69 sewing machines to A. D. Parsons of Ranger,
'Texas, for the sun of 4,-28,95.24, with provisions that after a lapse of 15 days
should the highest bidder fail to purchase the machines above described, then
in that event the City Manager is authorized to sell to the next highest
bidder, The Capital Furniture Company, whose bid vas $2,764.83, reserving the
right to reject any lower bids.

Moved by Alderman Spragins that the Board of Aldermen approve and
ratify action of the City Iianager for the granting of a temporary permit for
the installation of a VAAC recruiting booth at Eighth and Scott Streets.

Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Doard of Aldermen grant permission
to the Chamber of Commerce to block Scott Street from 7th to 9th, and 8th Street
from the alley between Indiana and Scott and the alley between Lamar and Scott
the evening of May 15th for the purpose of holding a street dance in connection
with the "'ichita Falls Jubilee celebration.
