Henderson, City Clerk The Minutes of the regular meeting of April 19th were read and approved as read. Loved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the 3oard of Aldermen authorize the issuance of a license to Frank Walton to operate a dance hall under the name of Club at 7031 Indiana. Dlotion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Alderman approve and ratify the action of the City Clerk for the issuance ofa solicitor's license to the Southwest Jewish Chronicle on May 21, 1943, and further authorize the City Clerk to grant like license to the Holliday High School and Valley View Senior High School. Motion seconded by Alderman Spragins and carried. Moved by klderman Baber that domino license be granted to the Arcade Recreation Club at 7211 Eighth Street. ?,lotion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that chauffeur's licenses to granted to Newell L. Hudgins, Lawrence L. Tyce, Loss C. Glazier, and James R. 11orris. Motion seconded by klderman Stephens and carried. 'loved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order payment to Harvey Harris the sum of $1,500.00 for fees due him in Cause No. 35912-B, Bruner vs City of lutiichita Falls, same being in compliance with the Ydnutes of April 6, 1942. Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried. 973 i I Moved by Aldeman Stephens that the City Clerk be authorized and q ordered to refund the sum of $6.15 to C. N. Jennings and the HOW for home- a stead exemption for the year 1942. '::Lotion seconded by Alderman Hunt and carried. - - - - - - - - - - Bids for reroofing the Club House at Meeks Park were read by the City Manager. The bids of $963.00 by J. A. Siranons Construction Company was the lowest bid and, since even their bid seemed excessive, the City Manager recommended that all bids be rejected. Moved by Alderman Hunt that the Board of Aldermen reject all bids for reroofing Vveeks Park Club House and further authorize the City i;anager to readvertise for new bids. Motion seconded by Aldeman Stephens and carried. The City Manager reported a conference with Oral Jones, one of the iichit a County Irrigation District directors, revealed that the City was asked to pay $1,500.00 of an estimate of �1,500.00 to 492,500.00 for the construction of flumes necessary to supply water for the East Side Gardens, whereupon layor Hood, with the consent of the Council, instructed the City Manager and City Attorney to further confer with the Irrigation officials i and Leslie Humphrey in an effort to negotiate an agreement whereby the City will pay only 50% of the actual cost of said construction or necessary re- pairs with provisions of allowing the city engineers to superintend the construction and with the further provision that all interestest parties in the East Side Gardens sign a written agreement to dismiss the Suit yr tr�� 4_ prejudice. The City Manager reported that, after conferring with Eli ?Horgan, he had agreed to either remove the lumber yard at 1113 Indiana or comply with the Eire and Building Code requirements. i - - - - - - - - - - 14oved_by Alderman Stephens that the bids �of� he Consolidated Chemical Industries, Inc., for alum at $1.65 per �-csrri and $1.62 after 1.4ay, be accepted and further authorized the City ?tanager to execute a contract with the Consolidated Chemical Industries, Inc. , for the purchase of alum for a period of one year at prices above stipulated. Unger, Local Manager � of.
