being an ordinance -ranting a franchise to the Community 'Natural C.as Ccrpany
-as continued.
Loved by Alderman Stephens that the Board of Aldermen grant and
cllow homestead tax refund to Albee Spates, Lot 8, mock 7 Patesen's Second
Addition, ir. am::unt of $9.95.

Loved by Alderman Byer that the Board of Aldermen approve expenses

R S O L U T I C N
Mereas, on Tuly 26, 1941, the City of Wichita Falls filed an
application under Texas Docket No. 41-168, through the Federal Works Arency,
called the Government, for a Federal grant for the purpose of raising the

dam and spillway of Lake Wichita and constructing new control
works for the purpose of increasinr7, the vater supply in Lake
tii&ita in order that the City could furnish an adequate water
supply to the United States Army Aviation Mechanical School at
Shenpard Field.
t,hereas, en April 17, 1942, the City of Wichita Falls
received notice of an offer of grant from the united States
government, which offer was officially accepted by the City of
Ylichita Falls, Texas, on April 20, 1942, and
Whereas, on Yay 4, 1942, an amendatory application was
filed by the City of Iffichita Falls, Texas, under Texas Docket
No. 41-168, in which a request was made for a grant to increase
the scope of said project, and
V,bereas, said amendatory application for a grant under
Texas Docket Nc. 41-168 has not been approved by the Federal Works
Agency, and
11-hereas, the City of iyichita Falls desires to withdraw
and abandon said amendatory application under Texas Docket No.
41-168, and accept the gxant offered by the "Tnited States Government
thr( ugh the Federal Yorks Agency under the original application.

hereby reject all bids on said project for the reason that
sufficient funds are not availat;le by the Sponsor.

Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that a rule requiring ordinances
to be read on separate days be suspended, and an emergency declared and
Ordinance No. 1353 be passed on its second reading.
