Min 10/12/1942 I 841 I i Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium October 12, 1942 I The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session at 5:00 o'clock P. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium Building on the above date with the follorwing members present: W. City Attorney The minutes of the regular meeting September lath, and the minutes of the regularly called meeting October 7th, were read. Iayor Hood approved the minutes of September 28th and October 7th. as read. - - - - - - - - - - i i The City Council discussed with the representatives of the Community Natural Gas Company, proposed Ordinance No. 1348 providing for franchise. With the consent of the Board of Aldermen,Mayor W . P. Hood instructed the Legal Department to ,revise. proposed Ordinance No. 1348, setting out, among other things, the consideration of: I #1. ;14,000 #2. lj'/, Street and alley rental, in addition to present charges and fees made by the City. All of these charges to continue so long as the present status and charges are maintained and not increased. #3. Providing for areement by the Cor^r:unity Natural Gas Co. , not to pass on to customers or consumers any rentals or charges now being made by the City. #4.° Providin^ for 20 year period for a proposed franchise. R E S O L U T I O N N 0 T I C E Pursuant to Section 121 of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the action taken by the h`.ayor and Board of Aldermen of said City, at a regularly called meeting held on October 12th, 1942, and pursuant to the application of Community Natural Gas Company on file with the City Secretary requesting the passage of an ordinance, granting consent to Community Natural Gas Company, its successors and assigns, to use the streets, alleys and public thoroughfares of the City of Wichita Falls to furnish and supply gas to the general public in said. City and its environs, there is hereby ordered published the vT- itten application of Community Natural Gas Company, filed by Company and 842 accepted by City as of July 27, 1942, for the passage of the aforesaid ordinance, together with the proposed form of ordinance, said publication to be made in the Record News newspaper for two days. IT 1.S FURUM ORDRt ED that after publication in the form and manner above, the 11ayor and Board of Aldermen will meet on the 19th day of October 1942, at the Municipal Auditorium, and the 26th, day of October 1942, for the purpose of holding public hearings on said ordinance. IT IS YURUER ORDERED that this order be published in the same manner and at the same time as provided :br the publication of the aforesaid application and form of ordinance. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize the necessary procedure and expense incident to prosecuting WA project to connect irrigation canal direct to the water supply canal serving^ the City dater Plant. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Stephens that the City of Wichita Falls accept and approve the report of the City Engineer on the installation of sanitary sewer lines and water lines to serve Sheppard Estates and authorize installation of said line. Tennant, Regional Chief, Special Projects '1,.zLr Production Board, has by letter the 8th of October, 1942, requested F the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, tc transfer, by bill of sale, all unused i street car rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track material lying in the streets of said City to Yetals Reserve Company, a subsidiary of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, an agency of the United States Uovernment, for a nominal consideration, and to grant permission to Metals Reserve-Company to remove the above described material from where now located in the streets of the City of Wichita Falls. € V11MEAS, said rails, track fastenings, and other mr tallic I track material, are urgently and immediately needed in connection with the E 843 war program; and 'WHEREAS, the City of richita Falls is desirous of having said rails, track fastenin;�s an:-' other metallic track material removed from its streets and is willing to contribute the same to the successful prosecution of the war program: T`'E'REFC , RE LT 2-.SCLVED: 1. 1hat W. P. Hood, I'ayor, be authorized to convey title to said rails, track Pastenin7s, and, other metallic track fastenings to Yetals Reserve Company by bill of sale, the form of which shall be epproved by City Attorney. 2. That 11"etals Reserve Company be and is hereby given permbsion to remove said rails, track fastenin.,s, and other metallic track material located in the streets of the City of 11,1&ita Falls , the location of which has been established by 11;ar Pro,luction Board in said letter, and for that purpose to disturb the pave- nent in the streets where said rails are loc_,.ted; this work to be carried out in accordance with specifications to be approved by City Engineer who shall assure himself that the ucrk is being done with ninimum interference iith the r'.ovement of traffic, and that the slots fror,; which the rail is removed are refilled with a s ,itable available raving material. 3. 'That no d.arla-. t- tr,¢ streets will be. claimed by the City of tr''ichita galls, providing the Yetnls Reserve Company performs the vcrk in accord- ance with the terms, condition and specifications set out above. Moved by Alderman Villiams that the Board of Aldermen authorize payment to the Wichita General Hospital of $1897.56 upon payment of like sum. by Wichita County.
