The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular
session at 8:00 o'clock P. w. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium
Building on the above date with the following members present:

The minutes of the regular meeting of July 20th, were read.
Mayor W. P. Hood declared the minutes as read approved.
The Community i4atural Gas Company represented by attorneys and
local manager, filed with the Board of Aldermen formal application for a
franchise to do business with the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and filed
with the Board of Aldermen an ordinance designated and numbered as Ordinance
No. 1348, said ordinance being the franchise proposed by the community
Natural Gas Uo., all in accordance with the terms and conditions and procedure
required by the U'harter of the City of Wichita Falls,

be passed upon its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried with the
following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Baber, Fitzpatrick, Hyer and Stephens.
Nays: None.
Moved by Alderman Baber that the Board of Aldermen approve the
following tax refund to Harry Daugherty Jr. and the First Federal Savings
and Loan Association for the year 1941 $25.05 homestead.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stephens and carried.

'THAT VaAREAS, on the 22nd day of June, A. D. 1942, the Board
of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by a resolution duly made,
authorized Mayor W. P. hood of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to execute
an option to the United States of America for the purchase of 368 acres of
land belonging to bars. Zetta McKinley, et al, out of '1homas Curry Survey,
Abstract 344, and the wm. Anglin Survey No. 2, which lies South and Lust
of Sheppard Field in Wichita County, Texas, and
wiEHNAb, the said w. Y. hood, Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls
did according to said resolution execute an option to the United States of
America to purchase said land, and
Wig, the United States of America has requested that such
option be submitted on the form used by the office of the Chief Engineers
Construction Division - Real Estate Branch.

Mrs. Zetta lacxi nle y, et al, such option to be on the form prescribed by the
Office of the Chief Engineers - Construction Division - Real Estate Bran(*
of the Mr Department of the United States of America, which forma have
been submitted by the United States Engineer's office at Denison, Texas.
That the said W. P. Hood, mayor of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, be further authorized and empowered to execute a deed conveying the
368 acre tract of land to the United States of America provided said offer
is accepted by the United Stages of America.

and in behalf of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, (herein called the "Owner"),
an application for Federal assistance under the Defense Public Vbrks program,
and the United States of America, acting by and through the Federal works
Administrator, has transmitted to the Owner an Offer of Federal assistance in
connection with the public works referred to in said application and described in
said Offer; and

been fully considered in every respect in accordance with the pertinent rules
of procedure and legal requirements; and
RikREAS, said Offer has been made a part of the public records of
the Owner; and
