of fire hazards, and to make survey of the r'ire Department nerscnnel and
equipment filed written report with the hoard cf Aldermen, containing
definite and specific recomr_endations. these .reports :ere received and
discussed at length by the 9o..-rd of Aldermen.

the mire iv.-rshal, and the City Engineer to strictly enforce all rules,
regulations and orders enacted by ordinan(,cs of the City of `t.'ichita Walls
and the statutes of the State of Texas governing fire hazards and building
construction, relating to such hazards,in cooperation with the continued
activity of the citizens comr-ittee appointed by the -ayor to survey fire
hazards and rire Department personnel and equipment; the Fire karshal to
give particular attention to theatres, schools and public buildings.

moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
employment of three additional men for operation of the neiv; r^ater plant, at
4w regular salary schedule provided for in the current budget to apply, OWd
a salary of 0125.00 per month for a mechanic.

Vdorks Agency, has offered to aid in financing certain improvements to the
sanitary sewer system, known as Docket Texas 41-167; and
V�tir: rAS, the City of rvichita Falls, Tex- s, accepted the said
offer of the United States Government on April 20, 1942; and
the City of Wichita Falls did advertise and call for
bids on the work covered by the said offer on may 7, 1942, and again on
may 25, 1942; and
vatiw;ltZli�, on both of the aforesaid dates the City failed to receive
a bid on the proposed work; and
VXjZRhA6, the delay in starting construction on the sewer improve-
ments caused by the failure to receive any bids on either of the aforesaid
dates had resulted in an unsanitary condition that is a menance to the
public health and welfare and therefore creates an emergency. (�

responsible bidder or bidders as may be interested in this work, and

June lo, 1942, for construction or the improvements to the said sanitary
sewer.
