Memorial Auditorium
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular
session at 8:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Hoom of the Memorial Auditorium
Building, on the above date with the following members present:
W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor
J. W. Fitzpatrick, 0
V. E. Stampfli, Aldermen
Jas.' M. Williams, l
J. Bryan Miller, City Manager
J. H. Crouch, City Clerk
T. A. Hicks, City attorney
The minutes of the regular meeting of December 8th, were read.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the minutes of the regular meeting
of December 8th, be approved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.

City Manager, J. Bryan Miller, filed a written report and
recommendation based on study and investigation of the application of the
Bowen Motor Coaches, Ordinance No. 1337, providing for franchise for the
operation of local buses. The report is as follows:
"Honorable Mayor &. board of Aldermen
City of Wichita Falls, Texas
In accordance with the City Charter, the request for fran-
chise by the Bowen Motor Coaches has been referred to
me for recommendation.
Inasmuch as the Company proposes to spend $100,000 on
improving the services throughout the City, and inasmuch
as the people need such character of transportation
facilities, and inasmuch as a franchise would not be
exclusive, it is my recommendation that the Counci. 1 give
the application careful consideration.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen cf the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, in compliance with the terms and provisions of the
Uharter, hereby call public hearings on Ordinance No. 1.337 at 8 o'clock P. Y,
December 22nd, December 29th, 1941 and January 5, 1942, in the Council Room
of the Memorial Auditorium Building.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize the
Engineering Department to clear utility permits for filling station building
situated on Waco Street at its intersection with Scott Street.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Alder-
men award to Paul Scheurer Engineering Co., contract fbr heating
system in the filter room of the new,vater plant- for #1611,00, being
an alternate bid as set out ih their letter of December ll, 1941,
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen
approve payment to the Wichita General Hospital in the amount of
$1733#1.8, upon the payment of like sun by the Wichita County.
Btotion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen
adjourn.
Motion seconded by Al-?erman 'Williams and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
