Min 06/02/1941 582 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium, June 2, 1941 The Board of Aldermen met in regular session in the Council Roam of the Memorial Auditorium on the above date at 8:00 ,o'clock P. M. with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor A. J. Naylor, 1 V. E. Stampfli, 1 Aldermen Jas. M. Williams, 1 !Frank Wolf, 1 J. Bryan Miller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney The minutes of the regular meeting of May 26th, were read. Moved by Alderman Williams that the minutes of the regular meeting of May 26th, be approved as read. F K K * F K F •F k x L S 0 L U T I 0 N RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF 'THE 0111'Y COUNCIL OF rHE UITY Or WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING n REP'LAT AND DEDICATION OF A PA11T OF THE HIGHLAND ADDITION TO 'IHE CITY OF WICHI'1'A FALLS, TEAS, AnD xUTnORIZ NG AN ADDITION TU THE c iTT OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ALL OF -rHE SAME BEING MOyTN AS W. E. WILSON ADDITION TO 'WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. On this the 2nd day of June, A. D. 1941, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, a Yull quorum of said Council being present and acting, came on to be heard the petition of W. E. Wilson asking ror authority to make a re-plat and dedication of Lots One (1) to Five (5), inclusive, Block One Hundred Two A (102A) , and One (1) to Three (3)9 inclusive, Block One Hundred Three A (103A) , Highland Addition to the City of Plchita Falls, Texas, and to include the same in and make the same a part of W. E. Wilson Addition to Wichita Falls, Texas, the remainder of said Addition composed of a thirteen ana one-half (132) acre tract out of S.P.R.x. Company Survey No. 1, Certificate No. 16/157, Abstract No. 281, in Wichita County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the West line of said S.P.H.R. Co., Survey No. 1, 710 feet North of its Southwest corner; 'Thence East parallel with the South line of said Survey 602.3 feet to the West line of Taft Street at the Southeast corner of Block 95-A of the Highland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas; Thence South 10.7 feet along the West line of Taft Street; Thence South 18 deg. 25 min. East along the west line of Taft Street as now dedicated and paved 170.4 feet to the North Right of {fay line of Wichita Valley Railroad; Thence South 68 deg. 17 min. west 707.7 feet to the west line of said Survey; Thence North along the pest line of said Survey 436.5 feet to the place of beginning, i i i 583 as fully shown by the sketch showing such Addition presented to the Council for approval and proposed by the said W. E. Wilson to be filed in the Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas, and dedicated as an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. And no opposition to said petition being presented or known, and it being considered by this Council that said petitioner, W. E. Wilson, is now the owner and the sole owner of the above described Lots One (1) to rive (5), inclusive in Block One Hundred Two A(102A), and Lots One (1) to Three (3) , inclusive, in Block One Hundred Three A (103A) , Highland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and being the sole owner of the above described tract of thirteen and one-half (132) acres of land out of S.P.R.R. Co., Survey No. 1, aforesaid, as described herein, and that he is to place of record a new and different addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, covering said property to be known as W. E. Wilson R addition to Wichita Falls, Texas, Mich will not re cessitate changing the location of streets and alleys now existing in said Highland Addition but is to increase the width of Sheppard Street in said addition by adding to the same a portion of the above described Zots out of said Highland Addition, and that said new addition including a re-Illat of the above described portion of said Highland Addition will not be deterimental to the rights and uses of the adjacent property owners and the rights and uses of the public in access to it and that said new addition will in fact be more beautiful and render more useful and valuable all property and rights of all persons affected by the increase in the width of Sheppard Street, aforesaid, and by tue extension of Brown Street, an alley and easements across said thirteen and one-half (131) acres of land above described, the Council is of the opinion that the petition of the said w. E. Wilson should be granted. TH.rtffrvRE, BL 1-r RESOLVED, and uRDMED by the C.LTY COUN(;.LL of the City of Wichita .Falls, Texas, that the petition of W. B. Nilson for per- mission to re-plat the above described portion cf the Highland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and to include the same in, and make the same a part of W. E. Wilson Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, which he proposes to plat and dedicate and to increase the width of Sheppard Street Adjacerrt to said block one hundred two A (102A) and vne Hundred Three A (103A) of the Highland Addition to the City of Wichita r'alls, Texas, without changing or detracting Prom any of said Streets or alleys adjacent to said Lots out of the Highland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby granted and authorized and the said W. z. Wilson is here- by authorized to place upon said property the dedication proposed and ne is hereby authorized to place of record in the Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas, the plat and dedication of W. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen order closed, and authorize the sale of a 10 foot space mapped for passage-way, or walk, between Lots 23 and 24, Block L. Martin, Geo. A. Evans and Jas. V. Marshall. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, authorize its Mayor, W. L. Fitzgerald, to execute for and on behalf of said City a pipe line license with the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Co., dated the 22nd day of May 1941, for the consideration of $15.00 providing for the right to construct, maintain and operate a pipe line not exceeding twenty-(20) .inches in diameter for the purpose of conveying water along and across the right of way or otner grounds constituting a part of the property of the said Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Co., under said Railway Company's track crossing Seventh Street in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, as shown on sketch which is made a part of said license. Motion seconded by Alderman 6tanpfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the City Attorney be requested to prepare amendment to Urdina nce No. 1318, establishing parking meter zones on Lamar Street in front of the building known as the Freear Furniture Co., and on llth Street along the side of said Freear Furniture Co. building. Motion seconded by Al,:Ierman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen authorize it's Mayor, W. L. Fitzgerald, to execute a deed to C. E. Basham, conveying Lot 10, Block 62 Original Town of Wichita Falls, Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the 'Board of Aldermen authorize refund of ;240.56 to Kemp, Peckham and Harrell on water reimbursement contract for the revenue year ending in 1941. Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen deny the application of W. J . Lambert for public dance license at 200 indiana.Ave., Motion seconded by Alderman 6tampfli and carried. i i 585 Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize the .City Manager to proceed immediately with painting the Stutz Fire truck at the Central Fire Station at an estimated cost of ;65.00. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen of the City of 'Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby authorize and order the City Treasurer to purchase 10 City of Wichita Falls, Texas Water Improvement Bonds dated May 15, 1941, Nos. 50,51,52,64,65,136,137,138,139, 140. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
