The Board of Aldermen met in regular session in the Council Room
of the Memorial Auditorium on the above date at 8:00 o'clock P. Y. wi th
the following* members present:

The minutes of the re-^alar meeting of April 21st, were read.
Moved by Alderman Stamrfli that the minutes of April 21st be
arrroved qs read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 1319
AN ORDINANCE DEFINING AUTOMOBILE 1RAILER S AND TRAILER CANTS:
REGiJLATING AND LICENSING Ti-HEIR USE r1 TTIE CITE OF YTICHITA FALIS; PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.

its third and final reading, and apnroved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams with the following vote:
Yeas: Aldermen Stamrfli and Williams.
Nays: Aldermen Naylor, Wnl.: , and Fitzpatrick.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen upon the
resort and recommendation of the Citv YenaFer, authorize the re-roofing
of the old ti"rater Plant Building at a cost of $151.40.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen grant
permission for the holding of an annual negro dance on June 19th, waiving
license.

Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen approve
the purchase of a safe for the Food Stamp office at a cost of $175.00.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen authorize
and approve expenditure of $43.40 for light fixtures and $77,00 for
Venetian blinds installed in the City and Bounty building, occupied by
the Government Relief Agencies.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Wolf that the. Board of Aldermen employ xussell
S®yler to act for, and on behalf, of the City of Wichita Falls in the
capacity of Manager of the construction of the Water Improvement System,
with the duties of Purchasing Agent, Direction of personnel and such other
duties as may be incident to said construction, and further that his I
compensation shall_ be $250.00 per month, and an allowance for automobile
expense, which is hereby authorized and appropriated.
Yotion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen authorize
the City Mana per to secure the temporary use of space of the Wrestling
Arena on 7th Street for the Texas State Employment Service on the terms
and conditions reported to the Board of Aldermen, including payment by the
City of water and electric utilities, and the necessary graveling of the
floor space.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Bids on settling basin steel, expansion joints, pipe hand rails,
plates, ,sting, etc., for the Water Improvement System were reported to
the Board by Engineers in charge of construction.
Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the bid of the Panhandle
Steel Products Uo., for steel for the Water Improvement System construction,
not including copper expansion joints and wire ties, be approved and
s'
accepted as the lowest and best bid. The bid being; $26,800.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen award to
W. J. Howard, as the lowest and best bidder, contract for the installation
of new parking meter standards at new locations for $1.00 each: at old
locations for 50 each and installation of old standards for 50G/ each.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.

Mayor Fitzgerald appointed a co-mittee composed of Aldermen
Williams, Stampfli and Naylor, to investigate and report to the Board
of Aldermen the possible locations for improvement and roadways to the
site of the new water plant.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen hereby
determine that the policy of the City of Wichita Falls in the collection
and disposal of trash and garbage throughout the City shall be by contract,
based on the mneral terms and conditions heretofore proposed.

Moved by Aldermen Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Wichita Fells hereby authorize and order the condemnation of all
land necessary for Providing rir�ht of --ays for the Air Technical Training
School, and Railway Slur track to service said school.
Motion seconded. by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stamnfli that the Board of Aldermen adiourn.
