1 The Board of Aldermen met in regular session on the above date
at 8:00 o'clock P. P , in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium
with the following members present:

The minutes of the regular meeting of February 17th; the regular
meeting of February 24:th, and the regularly called meeting of February
28th, were read.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the minutes of February 17th,
February 24th, and February 28th, be approved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 1317
AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING FROM TAXATION FDR CITY PURPOSES THREE THOUSAND
($3,000.00) DOLLARS OF THE ASSESSED TAXABLE VALUE OF ALL RESIDENCE HOMESTEADS
r AS NOW DEFINED BY LAST, LOCATED AND SITUATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FROM NOW AND AFTER THE 1ST DAY OF JANUARY,
A. D. 1934, PROVIDED THAT SUCH PROPERTY IS ACTUALLY OCCUPIED BY THE FAMILY
CLAI&SING SUCH EXEMPTION AS A HOMESTEAD ON THE I.ST DAY OF JANUARY OF THE YEAR
FOR WICH SUCH EXEMPTION IS CLAIMED, AND PROVIDED '1HAT THE PERSON, OR IERSONS
CLAIMING SUCH EXEMPTION SHALL HAVE RENDERED SAID PROPERTY CLAIMED AS A HOMESTEAD
FOR TAXES, TOGETHER WITFI ALL PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY SUCH PERSON, OR PERSONS,
VEICH SAID RENDITION SHALL BE MADE NOT LATER THAN APRIL 30TH OF EACH YEAR AND
AT THE TIME OF PENDERING SUCH PROPERTY THE SAID PERSON, OR PERSOIZ, SHALL CLAIM

third and final reading, and approved as read.

/ terms of the Ordinance governing, appoint Vaughn Baldridge and George
W. Cruickshank, members of the Plumber's Examining Board, to serve
\' the unexpired terms of W. W. Christian and J. W. Hubb.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorise
Mayor Fitzgerald to execute a contract, or agreement, between the City
of Wichita Falls and Wichita County, Texas, for the remodeling of the
building now owned by the City of 'Wichita Falls situated on Lot 6 Block
176 Original Townsite, said building to be used for the housing of VA
offices, with said improvements to cost approximately ;8150.00, and
further authorize Mayor Fitzgerald to transfer to Wichita County, Texas,
a title interest in the above described property in the ratio that 50�;
of the remodeling and improvement cost bears to the total value of the
said remodeled property; the original appraised value of the unimproved
building being $10,000.

& Deering Stores bid as the lowest and best bid on one - three-fourths i
(3/4) ton pick-up at $745,32, less equipment traded in at $165.32, or a
net bid of $580.00 for the Park Department.

Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen accept the
bidcf McCormick & Deering Stores as the lowest and best bid on one s
tractor at $689.81, less equipment traded in at *50.00, or a net bid
of $639.81 for the Park Department.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen accept the
J. 0. Dotson Inc. bid as the lowest and best bid on two - 3/4 ton pick
ups at $977.60 each for the Water Department.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen accept Fox-
Randle Motor Co. , bid as the lowest and best bid on one - one and one half
ton truck at $1125,00 net, and accept the bid of Morgan Motor Co., for
one - one and one half ton truck at $1160.00 net for the Water Improvement
Conttruction.

Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen accept
J. W. Barthlow Machine Co., bid as the lowest and best bid for one
CMC Concrete Mixer at $1665.00, net for the Water Improvement Construction.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen authorize
Mayor Fitzgerald to execute a Quit Claim Deed to the South 25 Feet of
the West 90 feet of Lot 13, Block 177, Original Townsite.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen grant the request
of the Norsworthy Music Co., the use of the Municipal Auditorium on Sunday
Afternoon, April 27th, at an estimated cost of $20.00.
Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.

construction of a sewer line to serve Block 35 of the Fourth Supplemental
Addition to the Country Club Estates at an estimated cost of $153,75.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bonds Nos. 1891, 1892 and 1893 with interest coupons attached
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, Refunding Bonds Series 1940 were legally
and duly issued; and,
WHEREAS, Coupons Nos. 21 and 41 of Bond Nos. 1891, 1892 and 1893,
due respectively December 10 1950 and December 1, 1960, representing interest
due and payable on the above described bonds, and each coupon being in the
amount of $18.75, and being in error paid by the City National Bank in
Wichita Falls, Texas, and being in error cancelled with coupons due December
1, 1940, and charged to the Interest Funds of said City; and,
WiFREAS, the. said paying agent has taken up said cancelled coupons,
and on the 24th, day of February 1941 deposited the sum of $112.50, the
total amount of the said six coupons to the credit of Interest Funds of the
City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Wichita Falls that the
above described Interest Coupons of Bonds Nos. 1891, 1892 and 1893 due
December 1, 1950 and December 1, 1960, and being of the duly legally issued
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, Refunding Bonds Series 1940, and said interest
coupons having been presented and paid and cancelled in error, and the funds
so paid out by the City National Bank in Wichita Falls, Texas, paying agent
have been returned to the Interest Funds of the City, said above described
coupons are by this resolution and order recognized as true and valid obliga-
tions of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and payment of same is hereby
authorized under the same terms and conditions applicable to the payment
of Interest Coupons to become,due December 1, 1950 and December 1, 1960.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 3rd day of March A. D. 1941.

Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby approve W. D. Cline's dedication
of subdivision and >plat of a tract or parcel of land out of the
Thomas A. Garner Survey, Abstract No. 84, to be known and described
as J. W. Gentry Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lots
1, 2 and 3,. Map and plat of subdivision attached hereto and made a
part hereof.

Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen grant
Chauffeurs License to H. W. Vbitworth.

Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen accept the
bid of the Buffalo Fire Appliance Corporation as the lowest and best
bid on one - 600 gallon triple combination pumper at $6839.95 net,
and accept the bid of Peter Pirsch Co. , on one tractor type 85 foot
aerial with 500 gallon tank at $15,675.00 net; one Booster tank truck
at $3555.00 net, with all bids meeting original speficiations.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize
the refund to Hamilton-Martin Investment Co., 2576 of the total gross
water receipts from connections in the Second Supplemet&Addition to
the First Section of the Country Club Estates Addition to the City ct
Wichita Falls, under contract dated March 1, 1940.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board of Aldermen authorize
the preservation of the old Fire Alarm Bell.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen adjourn.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
