Loved ` y Alderman Hyer that the minutes of December 2nd, be approved as read. ';lotion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. roved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls hereby authorize the expenditure of a na ximum su of $75,000.00 for, and on behalf of the said City in the acquiring of land, or in furnishing of materials which may be necessary in meeting the require- ments of the Government of the united States of America for the establishment and improvement of an air field, or an airport, in connection with the National Defense program, and further authorizing thee: ayor of said City to exedute or sign any contract or aeements necessary for completion of such program. �.otion seconded by Alderman .`Taylor and carried. IF IF * * * n= , * * * A written petition was filed with the Board of Aldermen by certain land owners of Tater Improvement District No. 1, being land owners located in the irrigated lands corn,-only known as the Wichita Talley District, or area lying under the irrigation ditches supplied heretofore out of Lake `v.ichita, protesting the action of the C:ty in notifying the Wichita Water Improvement District i;o. 1, that the water out of Lake Mchita would be cut off for irrigation purposes. The petition ,,as received by the -ayor and ordered filed. Tom Gahagcan, and others composing a comr�ittee representing the Texas H me Guards organization, requested the use of the Auditorium stage two nights per week for regular meetings and drills. T.ayor Fitzgerald Postponed consideration of this request until the next regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen. Ito,red by Alderman r'yer that the Board of Alermen approve the installation of sewer lines under YIIA project when said project may be approved, in the alley b etv-een Sullivan Street and Welch Street, extending West from. Rosewood Street, and annroximately 700 feet distance.
