Mayor Fitzgerald appointed a committee composed of Aldermen Naylor, Stampfli and Williams to appraise all properties acquired in the purchase of right-of-way for construction of Water System Improvements which are to be sold. Moved by Alderman ivaylor that the Board of Aldermen autkrize the City Yanager to advertise for bids on all properties acquired by the City of Wichita Falls in the purchase of right-of-way for the Water System Improve- ments, which are to be sold. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. 481 Mayor Fitzgerald opened bids filed in connection with the regular annual audit of the City of Wichita Falls aeeounts, which were read and recorded as follows: CITY HOSPITAL M. Loved by Alderman Williairs that the Board. of Aldermen grant the request of the Disabled American afar Veterans organization to use the Memorial Auditorium on the night of November 30th, at a cost of $30.00 for a show by the Players Guild. That E. Fitzgerald, Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized to write to the Administrator, on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, advising that the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is greatly ingested in the possibility of obtaining Federal aid in financing the development of public airport facilities in or near the City of w'ichita Falls, Texas, and, in this connection, is prepared to furnish any legal or factual information that may reasonably be requested, is desirous of assisting and cooperating in every way possible in connection with any and all engineering surveys of airports and proposed airport sites in or near the City of Wichita Falls, Texas that the Administrator nay wish to make, and will be willing, if an offer of aid in financing the development of public airport facilities in or near the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is made, to enter into an agreement with the United States, through the Adminis- trator, uxdertaking, among such other things as may be weed upon: (1) that all title to property and other property interests necessary to prosecution of the project will be acquired by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas; (2) that the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, v.Zll cooperate with the Government in the prosecution of the project; (3) that the aerial approaches of the airport will be protected against obstruction to the fullest extent possible; (4) that the airport will be operated as an airport during the useful life of the facilities thereof established or improved with Federal aid; (5) that the airport and all its facilities will be maintained in reasonably good condi- tion and kept in good repair; and (6) that the airport will be operated and managed for the use and benefit of the public, on reasonable terms and 482 without unjust discrimination. SECTION 2. That the City Attorney and City Manager be and they are directed to rake such studies as may be necessary to determine what obliga- tions the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, could assume, practically, financially, and legally in entering into an agreement such as that referred to in Section 1 hereof, and report thereon to this Board of Aldermen as soon as possible. SECTION. 3. That the City Attorney and City Manager be and they are authorized to furnish such legal and factual information to the Administrator as he may reasonablg request in connection with consideration of the desirability of an airport project in or near the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, SECTION 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and affect from and after its passage. Yoved by Alderman Aaylor that the foregoing resolution be adopted. P.,oved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen authorize the installation of street lights at the intersection of: Ardath and -bridwell Streets Avenue L and Monroe Street Avenue K and Monroe Street and the installation of eight street light units on Har:,ison Street.
