Min 10/28/1940 469 Wichita Falls, Texas October 28, 1940 Memorial Auditorium, The Board of Aldermencf the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date at 8:00 o'clock P. Y. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor H. J. Naylor, I Jas. 1v1. Williams, ( Aldermen Frank Wolf, J. H. Crouch, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, Asst, City Attorney The minutes of the meeting October 21st were read. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the minutes of October 21st be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen approve the adjustment of Appropriations made by Ordinance No. 1310, to provide for the sum of $1610.00 for the purpose of providing supports and shelving I)r an addition to the Kemp Public Library. Nays: None. 470 Mayor Fitzgerald introduced Ordinance No. 1312, being a franchise for the operation of the City Waterworks System in accordance with the terms set out in Trust Indenture dated October 1, 1940, and said ordinance being read in full the Nayor called for public hearing on said ordinance as advertised and set by the terms thereof; Whereupon a public hearing on Ordinance ivo. 1312 was had. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. * * * * * * * * * * The Board of Aldermen was asked to consider the passage of an ordinance relative to Pawn Brokers and Money Lenders. * * * * * * * * * * Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen reject application of W. W. Medford for dance license at his cafe located at 603 and 604 Jefferson Street in North Wichita. Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen hereby approve street paving under WPA project for general paving of = blocks heretofore filed, of the following: lnbodroire Street from Hamilton to Cherokee Marshall from bouthern to Keeler Wilson from karshall to Bridwell Bluff from llth to 12th. Streets. Avenue C fran Buchanan Street to Grant Street. Avenue E from Hayes Street to Garfield Street Avenue F from Grant Street to Tilden Streed Said described blocks to be substituted for a like number of blocks authorized under 9WA project referred to above. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. * * * ** * * * * * Mayor Fitzgerald appointed Aldermen Wolf and Williams to investigate and report to the Board of Aldermen on suggestions and recommendations the price of Riverside Cemetery Lots now priced at $1.00 per square foot be reduced to 500 per squqre feet. * * * * * * * * * * Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen hereby order the installation of 50 new parking meters in the 800 block on Indiana Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen approve the application of A. E. Skelton for Chauffeurs License. Yotion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen approve the account of Dr. r . n. Glover in the sum of $75.00 for services rendered in the case of Mrs. Mable Morgan. D. 1940, AND LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNLER TBE LAMS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND TIE CHARTER AND ORDIiVANCES OF SAID CITY. Moved by Alderman Wolf that Ordinance No. 1314 be passed on its first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Vvilliams and carried with the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Naylor, Williams and Wolf. bays: None. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen adjourn.
