Min 07/29/1940 4 I b Wichita Falls, Texas July 290 1940 Memorial Auditorium The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date at 8:00 o•cloek P. M. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor W. Ralph Hyer, J. W. Fitzpatrick, H. J. Naylor, Aldermen Jas. M. Williams, j Frank Wolf, j T. A. Hicks, City Attorney, J. Bryan Miller, City Manager .J. H. Crouch, City Clerk The Minutes of the meeting of July 22nd, were read• Moved by Alderman Wolf that the minutes of July 22nd be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried, ORDINANCE N0, 1306 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PART OF MISSISSIPPI STREET FROM ITS INTERSECTION OF CHESTER STREET TO SURTZ STREET AND THAT PART OF SWARTZ STREET EXTENDING FROM VIRGINIA AVENUE TO THE INTERSECTION OF ]MISSISSIPPI STREET, BOTH THE SAID STREETS BEING IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER. Moved by Alderman Naylor that Ordinance No. 1306 be passed on its Second reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried with the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hyer, Fitzpatrick, Naylor, Williams and Wolf. Nays: None. Discussion of the operation of the Soft Ball fieX in Scotland Park were had. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen grant the issuance of Master Plumber's License to M. 0. Moore upon the payment of the regular renewal license fee of $10.00 annually for the years 1937, 19389 1939 and 1940. NOW, THERFFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the pledged security described and set out in Wichita National Bank receipts Nos. 106 and 109 be, and are, hereby released, and in lieu thereof the Board of Aldermen approves and accepts 117 bonds of $1*000 par value each of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, re- funding Bonds Series 1940, and further authorize the release of Wichita National Bank receipt No. 126 Cashier's Check. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the foregoing resolution be adopted. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Hyer, Fitzpatrick, Naylor, Williams and Wolf. Nays: Nonef Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen authorize the payment to Lydia P, Gove of $237.50 in payment of City of Wichita Falls, Texas Bond Coupons allegedly lost, this claim being supported by affidavits prepared and approved by the City Attorney, and duly executed by Lydia P. Gove. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried* Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen adjourn. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
