Min 07/08/1940 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium, July 8, 1940 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session on the above date at 8s00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium with the following members presents W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor W. Ralph Hyer, H. J. Naylor, Aldermen Jas. M. Williams, i Frank Wolf, V. E. Stampfli, T. A. Hicks, City Attorney, Geo, T. Henderson, Acting City Clerk, Jas. A. Giddings, Representing City Manager. The minutes of the meeting of July 1st were read. Moved by Alderman Williams that the minutes of July let meeting be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. The matter of changing the electrical ordinance was presented by John Oeschner, and after some discussion between the aldermen, Alderman Williams moved that the matter be referred to the City Attorney, and that he prepare an ordinance to be presented to the Council at the next regular meeting for their consideration. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. I - - - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Naylor that the City Clerk be authorized to refund the 9 sum of $10.00 to Ben H. Richmond for Plumber'a License No. 234 purchased by him on May 3, 1938. I I Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. R I I - - - - - - - - - - - - Ben H. Richmond was present, and after expressing dissatisfaction with the above motion for the return of license fee, Alderman Williams moved the Council rescind the above motion and take the same under further advisement• I Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. - - - - - - - - - - - - Moved by Alderman Wolf that the City Manager be authorized to order the installation of street lights at the intersection of Barnett Street and at the Switch Track of the Wichita Mill & Elevator Company. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried. . I i Mayor Fitzgerald appointed Alderman Wolf and Stampfli as a ecmmittes of two to investigate the advisability of installing a street light at 18th and Broad Streets, and report to the Council at the next regular meeting. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order the adjustment of personal and property taxes and settlement of same as set out in the following schedule. After some discussion with reference to the above Mayor Fitzgerald appointed Alderman Stampfli, as a committee of one, to investigate the property i and determine the exact cost of such building, wiring and the necessary capacity of a water pump sufficient to furnish ample supply of water j for their swimming pool, and report his findings to the Board of Aldermen. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen adjourn. Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried. The Board cf Aldermen then adjourned.
