Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Hoard of Aldermen of Wichita Falls -rant a dance license to Louie Taylor, colored, located at 501 T,.x�s St., Louie Taylor to maintain the services of a special officer under the direction of the police Department. Motion seconded by Al dermAn Wolf and carried. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen of Wichita Falls deny the nnrlicatior of Reece Fuller, colored, for a dance hall license. Motion secorded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of Wichita Falls hereby accept and a-rove tre dedication of certain land out of Lots 5 and 8 Marlb^rough Addition to the Citv of Wichita Falls, Block No. 17 of the Highland Addition, and Block 38 of the Tiighland Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, being an extension of Avenue X and connectin7 Milby Street with Avenue X, which nrorerty is fully shown in plat which is made a wart hereof; said dedication by the T-x-s Investment Co. , and uamilton-M-.rtin Tnvestment Co. , anc W. R E S O L U T I O N WT'ERFA_S, the City of Wichit- Falls, hereinafter referred to as the sponsor, h^s ap*)lied to the Covernment of the United States of America, through the V;ork Projects Administration, for a WPA project, District Serial Number 7-1298, for the purpose of Construct facilities for the social and recreational activities of the women of the City of Wichita Falls, in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, hereinafter referred to as the project, which, if such apnlication is {-°ranted an(i said project is operated, will require the expenditure of a large amount in Federal funds; and WfERFAS, Federal funds may not he expended through the Work Projects Administration i^ the cneration of such projects, which, when completed, will not be used in the general public interest and retained exclusively under the ownership, mane-ement, possession, and control of 6, public auth-rity or political subdivision. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen appoint for the tax year 1940 Tax Board Equalization composed of Roscoe Staton, Olin Harvey, L. H. Gould and further approve consideration of $600.00 for the services of said Board. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen approve the execution of a lease to the strip of land approximately 225 feet wide lying between the Seymour Highway cut-off right-of-way and the Wichita River, and situated on park land adjacent to, and inside the City Limits, to the Wichita Falls Rifle & Pistol Club for a period of one year, for the sum of One Dollar and other good and valuable considerations. Motion seconded by Alderman Hyer and carried. Moved by Alderman slyer that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls authorize the execution for and on behalf of the City of Wichita Falls that certain Works Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponzor's Proposal No. 2-40, and being a project to construct Filtration Plant including filter building and appurtenant structures and yard piping, and further that W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls, be authorized to execute such project as the Sponsor's Agent, and that 1. Bryan Miller, City Manager, be authorized to execute such project proposal as the fiscal officer of said City. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Alderman Fitzpatrick, Hyer, Naylor and Wolf. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Hyer that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls do hereby allocate and set aside to that certain project des- cribed in Works Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponsor's Proposal No. 2-40, and entitled "Project to construct Filtration Plant including filter building and appurtenant structures and yard piping", all those certain hinds, materials and equipment as set in such proposal, as the Sponsorls contribution, and being in the total amount of $428,839*000 and that such funds allocated from and constitute a charge against the Rater Fund of said City. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried by the follow- ing vote: Yeas: Alderman Fitzpatrick, Hyer, Naylor and Wolf. Nays: None. Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls authorize the payment of $1,458.29 to the Wichita General Hospital for the month of May for hospital expenses, and the sum of $161.56 to purchase permanent equipment, upon the payment of a like sum by Wichita Chunty. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried• =a `a Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen adjourn. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried.
