The Board of Aldermen of the City of Vilc Nita Falls met in
regular session at 8 o'clock P. m. on the above date in the Council Room of
the L9emorial Auditorium with the following members present:

The minut s of the meeting of August 7th were read.
Yoved by Alderman Naylor that the minutes of the meeting of
August 7th be approved as read.

F. W. Lichael, 2106 Broad, presented a petition by citizens
of the Southside Addition requesting the relief of draina,7e conditions.
The Mayor pro ten referred this matter to the City Manager
and the City Engineer and asked that a report be nade to the Council.
VV'. L. Radford and others .requested t}--e Board to order the
installation of viater mains and a fire plug in the vicinity of Linwood and North
Eight Street.
The City L=anager reported the estimated cost of such installa-
tion at the location requested to be approximately $1,000,
Loved by Alderman Bebb that the Board authorize the installation
of renter mains and a fire plug- at Linwood and North Eight Street at an estimated
cost not to exceed $'1,000, subject to the availability of appropriations and in the
funds for such purpose, or in lieu of the location of the fire plub at Linv%,00d and North
Eighth Street that the Board order the installation of water mains and a fire plug;
at Linwood and Iorth Ninth Street at an estimated cost of 0150.

The request was presented to the Board for a building permit
for the construction of filling station property in the 2700 block on Grant
Street, said building to extend approximately six feet outside the established
building line.
Yoved by Alderman Bebb that the Council approve and order issuance
of a buildinC permit for the construction of a filling station in the 2700 block
on Grant Street, said building to extend approximately six feet outside the es-
tablished building line, permit to issue only on the rritten agreement of the
property owner effected.

Yoved by Alderman. Bebb that the Board cooperate with the efforts
of the Chamber of Cormerce, 4''ichita County, and 11 chita Falls Independent School
District for the establishment and location for a N. Y. A. hbodworking School in
Wichita Fails and instruct the City Yanager to make available 3,000 square feet of
floor space for a N. Y. A. b odworking School.

The Board of Equalization, 1939, notified the Council by a
letter dated August 28th of the completion of the rork of the Equalization Board.
Yoved by Alderman Bebb that the Board authorize the payment to
^ichita General Hospital the sum of $2,615.89 for the charity account for the
month of July and the additional sum. of $113.80 for equipment, on the payment of
a like sure. by Wichita County.

Cornnunity and Recreational Club Buildinfi for boys heretofore approved as a W.P.A.
Project by this Board.

incidental to the showing of a Harley Sadler Show, September llth through the
16th sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried.
Yoved by Alderman Bebb that the Board of Aldermen acknowledge the
gift made by T. S. Bridwell of certificate No. 9 for ten shares of stock of the
4`r'ichita Falls Air Port Company and instruct the City clerk to so notify 1. S.
Bridwell and express for and on behalf of the Board the appreciation of the
City for the generous spirit of J. S. Bridwell in the efforts of the City to
acquire and maintain the Air Port.
