The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular
session on the above date in the Council Room of the Yemorial Auditorium at 8.-00
P. m. with the following members present:

The minutes of the meeting of July 24th and the called meeting of July
28th were read.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the minutes of the meeting of July 24th
and the called meeting of July 28th be approved as read.
Notion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bebb that the following resolution be adopted:
vote: Notion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried with the following
Yeas: Aldermen Bebb, Naylor and Stampfli.

RESOLUTION PROVIDING lOR TIIu REDEi.-'TICN OF $3,185,000 CONSOLIDATED
RE-=F DIi,'G BOI'"D;� OF 'PHER CITY OF UTCHITA FALLS, TEXAS, DATED JUI`E 1,
1936.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, as follows'

SECTIOAI 1. The Board has ascertained and determined and does hereby de-
(a) nder the authority of Ordinance 1251, passed and approved on the 3rd
day of May, 1937, $3,389,500 Consolidated Refunding Bonds were duly issued by the `'ity
of Wichita Fa7 ' s, consisting of 105 bonds of 500 each a-d 3,337 bonds of $1,000 each,
dated June 1, 1936, maturing on June 1, 1969, bearing interest at the rate of 3-1/2%
per annum from their date to June 1, 1938, at the r to of 4jo per annu�" from. said last
named date to June 1, 1941, at the rate of 4-1/4% per annum from said last named date
to June 1, 1946, and at the rate of 4-1/2% per annum front said last named date until
paid, such interest being payable semi-annually on the first days of June and December
of each vear.
(b) $204,500 of said Consolidated R-I'funding Bonds have heretofore been
paid and discharged, loaving $3,185,000 of said bonds now outstanding and unpaid.
(c) All of said outstanding $3,185,000 Consolidated Refunding Bonds may
,be redeemed in whole or in part on any interest payment date by the payment of the
face amount of the bond or bonds so redeemed together with accrued interest upon
notice as provided in said Ordinance No. 1251.

(d) On July 28, 1939, this Board passed an ordinance authorizing
03,185,000 General Refunding Bonds to refund said outstanding 03,185,000 Con-
solidated Refunding Bonds, dated June 1,1936, said General Refunding Bonds to
bear interest at the rate of 4% per anium from date until December 1, 1939, and
at the rate of 3-1/4% per annum from December 1, 1939, until payment of the
principal thereof.
(e) Inasmuch as said General Refunding Bonds will bear interest at
a lower rate or rates than the rates or average rate of said Consolidated re-
funding Bonds, it is deemed for the best interests of the City to call for re-
demption on December 1, 1939 all of the outstanding $3,165,000 Consolidated Re-
funding Bonds dated June 1, 1936, and to issue General Refunding Bonds, dated
June 1, 1939, in exchange for and upon the surrender and cancellation of like
amounts of the Consolidated Refunding Bonds to be refunded, or to issue and sell
said General Refunding Bends and to apply the proceeds thereof in paying the
bonds to be refunded upon their surrender and cancellation.
SECTION 2. All of said outstanding $3,185,000 Consolidated Refund-
ing Bonds, dated June 1, 1936, are hereby called for redemption on December 1, 1
1939, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of the redemption
of said bonds once in The New York Times, a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of New York, and once in The Daily Bond Buyer, a financial
journal published and circulated in the State of New York and carrying as a part
of its regular service notices of sales of municipal bonds and which has a cir-
culation among financial institutions in at least fifteen states including the
State of New York, such publications to be made no later than October 31, 1939,
which said notice of redemption whall be substantially the following form:

Payment of the principal amo,int of said $3,185,000 bonds called for re-
demption on December 1, 1939 will be made on or aftersaid date upon presentation
of said bonds in negotiable form, accompanied by all June 1, 1940 and subsequent
coupons at the office of the City Treasurer in the City of �Iidhita Falls, Texas.
No interest accruing; on said bonds after December 1, 1939 will be paid. Coupons
maturing December 1, 1939 and prior thereto will be paid upon the presentation
and surrender of such coupons.

permit by the Cite .engineer for the erectic:n of a regulation Texas Company sign at
2228 Broad Street between the property line and the street curt.

A written petition Was presented to the Board by a Yx. Satterfield
signed by residents in the vicinity of the 600 block of Jefferson Street agreeing
to the operation of a public dance. Other protests were filed requesting the Council
to refuse issuance of a dance license to Mr. Satterfield for the operation of a
public dance.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that consideration of the request of Mr. Sat-
terfieldfor a dance license be postponed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board grant chauffeurs license to F. IV.'.

Loved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board authorize the adjustment of
persona' and property delinquent taxes and settlement of same as out-lined in the
follord ng schedules under dates of July 31, 1939, and August 7, 1939:

Moved by "lderman Bebb that the Board allow and order paid to City
employees tuition fees for correspondence course in municipal government studies
not to exceed the sum of $25.00 for each employee on completion of the course and
the Board hereby recommends the pursuant and completion of such studies by the
Gity employees.

Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board authorize the purchase and
erection of an additional 500 bleacher seats at the loft bal_I. field in Scotland
park at a cost not to exceed $80.00. }}

Leonora Walker Subdivision as platted, map attached hereto and made a part of this
