Min 07/24/1939 July 24, 1939 Memorial Auditorium Wichita Falls, Texas The Board of Aldermen of the City of Vticbita Falls met in regular session on the above date in the Council Room of the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: TV. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor E. A. Bebb, ) J. IN. Fitzpatrick, ) H. J. Naylor, ) Aldermen V. E. Stampfli, ) Jas. Y. Williams, ) Frank Wolf. ) J. Bryan :tiller, City Manager J. H. Croueh, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney The Minutes of the meeting of July 17th were read. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the minutes of the meeting of July 17th be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Dr. Hyde, former President of the Safety Council, spoke before the Board urging passage of an ordinance to prohibit the sale and use of fireworks in the City. Eying Claggett, attorney for local fireworks dealers, opposed the passage of such a measure. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board grant license to the local chapter of the Kappa Phi Omega Fraternity to solicit advertising. Yotion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. A`oved by Alderman Wolf that the Board disallow the claim pre- sented by Ratliff and Friberg, attorneys, for Harvey V. Sharp and T. J. Sharp. Yotion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Yoved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board approve the issuance of a building; permit covering the construction of a temporary structure on lot at the rear of 715 Indiana Avenue, location being V.hite's Auto Store. lotion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. Roved by Alderman Bebb that the Board as?grove and order payment of the sum of $200.00 to Tressa Lee Culp and A. D. Culp, for lots 1 and 2, block 2, Sunset Heights Addition. Said property being deeded to the City the 27th day of June, A. D. , 1939, for purpose of highway 30, Right-of-.`Jay. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Yoved by Alderman Stampfli thrt the Board authorize the purchase and installation of a bronze tablet in connection with the Memorial Shrine set up in the Municipal Auditorium.
