Memorial Auditorium
June 5, 1939
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular
session at 8:00 P. I. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial
Auditorium with the following members present:
W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor
E. A. Bebb, )
J. IV. Fitzpatrick )
H. 1. Naylor ) Aldermen
V. E. Stampfli )

J. Bryan Miller, City Manager
J. H. Crouch, City �'lerk
T. A. Hicks, City Attorney.
The Minutes of the meeting of May 2 4h were read.
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Minutes of the meeting of Yay
29th be approved as read.
lotion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
The City Manager reported to the Board relative to the conditions
existing at a beer establishment on the Burkburnett Road operated by Mr.
Satterfield, complaints having been filed with the Council relative to the
operation of this establishment. The Manager reported comtemplr-:ted improvements
in the operation of the place with the understanding that if such improvements
were not made, the place would be closed.
Jack Miller, representing the Railway Journal, appeared before the
Board requesting reconsideration of their application for license for soliciting
advertising.
Noved by Alderman Violf that the Board recind action taken at a
prior meeting denying application to solicit advertising by the Railway Journal
and grant issuance of a license for same.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.

Moved by Alderman Naylor the_t the Board grant issuance of a license
on application of J. H. Condon to solicit advertising for a proposed Court
House Directory.
No second was made to the move by Alderman Naylor and the Mayor
declared the move lost for want of a second.
V'�oved by Alderman Wolf that the Board deny issuance of a license
on the application of J. H. Condon.
Notion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried with the following
result:
Yeas: Aldermen Fitzpatrick, Vdolf, Stampfli and Bebb.
Nays: Alderman Naylor.
Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board authorize the adjustment
of personal and property delinquent taxes and settlement of same as out-lined
in the following schedules:

Error in assessing
Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board authorize and order
tax refund to Mrs. J. W. Harper, on N 1/3 of Lots 1-2, Block D. V°ratt,in
the sum of $3.15, homestead.
Motion seconded by alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Alderman I'laylor that the Board authorize payment to
Kemp. Peckham & Harrell the sum of $1,498.68, being amount due to April 1,
1939, on Water Main Contract, and pay same out of Vvater Fund.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stampfli and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board authorize and order
payment of amounts due under the Iater main Contracts by and between The
City of hichita Falls and J. Caruthers, Ray & Kassey, Westmoreland Park,
Bert KinggRivercr.est, and Leep Chauncey & Danials.
Motion seconded by alderman Naylor and carried.
Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Board of Aldermen adjourn.
Motion seconded by alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
