i r Wichita Falls, Texas Municipal Auditorium Building May 8, 1939 The Board of Aldermen of the City of 44ichita Falls met in regular session at 8:00 P. 1 on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: Vd. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor, J, W. Fitzpatrick, ) H. J. Naylor, ) Aldermen V. E. Stampfli, ) Jas. 1". Williams ) J. Bryan biller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk Thelbert Martin, Assistant City Attorney The minutes of the last regular meeting of May 1st were read. Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the minutes of the last regular meeting of May 1st be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1285 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING 7I-B SALE OF BEER ''IT--,iN THE ZONEA IN THE CITY OF trICBITA FALLS, TEYAS, PRESCRIBED I` =S ORDINAL CE, AND FUR`!!M PROVIDING THAT NO LICE:�E OR PEI2b`_Il' BE ISSUED FOR TH'E SALE OF SAYIE, EITHER BY TIE STATE, COUNTY OR CITY, ArJD PRCTTIDING A PEK-k=- Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick th.t Ordinance No. 1285 be passed on its second reading. With a second, the Idayor allowed a discussion of Ordinance No. 1285 by MIr. Hall, owner of a business establishment at 111 Henrietta Street, who filed a petition signed by residents and property owners in the vicinity of his business, relative to the provisions of said Ordinance; further discussion of this Ordinance was had by Mr. J. W. Nicholson, Tyr. Hatfield and the attorney for Lester Woods, a-plicant for a peer permit within said area. Mayor Fitzgerald declared the move lost for want of a second. Moved by Alderman Stamnfli that the Board approve the proposed improvement at the intersection of Avenue J and Yonroe Street and authorize the expenditure of approximately $150.00 by the City for the setting back of the street curb at the Northeast corner of said intersection, the same to be paid out of the Street Fund. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. Moved by Alderman Stampfli that the Board authorize the customary annual observance of DeMolay City Day, Friday, May 12, 1939. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Mr. Estes, chairman of the Citizens paving Committee , and other interested, appeared before the Council asking legal proceedure to compell property owner's cooperation in the completion of the proposed paving project. Mr. Mills, representing the local "Townsend Club", requested the free use of the Auditorium lawn on May 27th, Mr. dills was advised that the Auditorium lawn would be available under the terms of the Ordinance governing. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board allow the issuance of a permit to solicit advertising to Jack Simons and A. J. Sorey under the term of Ordinance No. 1272. Motion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams th_---t the Board authorize adjust- ment of personal and property delinquent taxes, and settlement of same, as outlined in the following schedule.
