Hicks, City Attorney Moved by Alderman Bebb that, in the absence of I:ayor Fitz- gerald,tilderman `-olf be elected Layor Pro-Tempore for this meeting. Motion seconded by Alderman alliams and carried. The minutes of the regular r.eetin_, of April 3, 1939, were read. Yoved by Alderman Naylor that the minutes of the regular n eeting of .Ap.ril 3, 1939, be approved as read. Orville Bullington, Attorney, representing a delegation from the Colored Community Club, requested on behalf of this organizat'on the cooperation of the City in providing a swinming pool in the vicinity of the colored school. Consideration of this request was deferred pending investiga". `ticn by the City hana.ger and the City Attorney relative to cost and le<<.lity of the construction and expense of such swimming pool. Moved by Alderman Fitzpatrick that the Board grant permission to the local chapter of the American Legijthe showing of the Ames Carnival, I y 4th to 14th, waiving licenses and permits on the condi- tion that the shows be policed both day and night. J. 14 Nicholson, as spokesman of a delegation from Virginia Street and vicinity, requested the boards•_' favorable action on a petition previously filed requesting the zoning of a certain area pro- hibiting the sale of beer, and filing a copy of correspondence from the Attorney General setting out an opinion in this matter. RESOLUTION VIFEEhiAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of 'china Falls held at the regular meeting elate in the 0ouncil Room of the Lemorial Auditorlun- Building; in said City on the loth of April, 1939, at which a quorum was present, came on to be considered the returns of the city election held on April 4, 1939, for the purpose of electing three alder- men for said City, and ITEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and there were cast at said election 1,562 votes for the election of three aldermen and that, For Alderman Place Number One (1) V. E. Stampfli received 821 votes uilliam B. ',ard received 730 " For Alderman Place ldur�.ber Two (2) J. 1. Fitzpatrick received 979 votes Ton W.
