Min 01/23/1939 Wichita Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building, January 23, 1939 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, met in,regular session at 8:00 P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Yayor Edwin A. Bebb, ) J. W. Fitzpatrick, ) Pat Hardage, ) Aldermen H. J. Naylor. ) Jas. E. Williams, ) Frank Wolf, ) J. Bryan Diller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney Minutes of the last regular meeting held January 16th, were read. Moved by Alderman 111liams that the Linutes of the last regular meeting of January 16th, be approved as read. I=otion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1281 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 511, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 19TH DAY OF LAY, A. D. 1924, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE CONSTRUCTICN, ALTERATION, Y INT NhNCE, REPAIR AND REMOVAL OF BUILDINGS WI11TIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TUXAS, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS,-BY Al''ENDING SECTION 36 OF SUCH ORDINiANCE, AND BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOYN AS SECTION 121, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Moved by Alderman Naylor that Ordinance No. 1281 be passed on it's first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Aldermen Bebb, Fitzpatrick, Hardage, Naylor, Williams and %bif. Nays: None. Vioved by Alderman Wolf that the Council authorize adjustment of personal and property delinquent taxes, and settlement of same, as outlined in the following schedule. Taylor has his warehouse in the country at his home. The Board of Equalization used the total of his stock in arriving at value, failing to consider that portion of stock outside city limits. This adjustment made to correct the error. Loved by Alderman Bebb that the Council authorize Iayor 111. E. Fitzgerald, for and on behalf of the City of IVichita Falls, to make a statement to the 6orks Progress Administration, setting out the uses and purposes of the proposed building described in IVA Project, Sponsor's No. 1-39. otion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried, Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen grant Chauzfeur's License to 'Tarlton Whatley, Paul T. Gaugh, and William L. IVilson. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Bids for new fire hose' were reported to the Board of Aldermen by the City Yanager, together with the written recorimendation of the Purchasing Agent, and the Chief of the Fire Department, that the bid submitted by Eureka Fire Hose Co., be accepted as the lowest and best bid, at a price of 85¢ per foot, less 20 discount for cash within 10 days from date of invoice. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Board of Aldermen grant a special permit to H. F. Bruton for the installation of two under-ground gasoline storage tanks, capacity of 2,000 gallons each, located at 524 Indiana Ave. Lotion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. Moved by Alderman Hardage that the Board of Aldermen authorize, and order, the payment of an agreed judgment in Cause No. 3267 B, Y. F. Long vs the City of Wichita Falls for the sum of $100.00 and court costs of $15.65, and order same to b e,paid out of the Water Fund. &potion seconded by Alderman Naylor and carried. 1-oved by Alderman Vdolf that the Board of Aldermen adjourn, subject to call, until the next regularly scheduled meeting of February 6, 1939.
