Min 01/09/1939 Wichita Falls, Texas L-emorial Auditorium Building, January 9, 1939 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, met in regular session at 8:00 P. Y. on the above date in. the Council Room in the Lemorial Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Layor Edwin A. Bebb, ) J. 6'4 Fitzpatrick, ) Pat Hardage, ) Aldermen H. J. Saylor, ) Jas. Y. Williams, ) J. Bryan biller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney Minutes of the last regular meeting held December 19, 1938 were read. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Minutes of the last regular meeting of December 19, be approved as read. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Proved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen reject all bids submitted for new fire hose, and call for other sealed bids for new fire hose, reserving the right to reject any and all bids submitted. Motion seconded by Alderman hilliams and carried. RESOLUTION NO. 1 Moved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita halls authorize the execution for, and cn behalf of, the City of Wichita Falls for that certain Works Progress Administration Project Proposal, :Sponsor's Proposal h1o. 1-39, and being a project to construct building to care for various athletic and social activities for boys and men, and further, that W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor of the City of Wichita Falls be authorized to execute such project as the Sponsor's Agent, and that 1. Bryan Iiiller, City Manager, be authorized to execute such project proposal as the fiscal officer of said City. Motion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried. Y".oved by Alderman Naylor that the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, do hereby allocate and set aside to that certain project described in Works Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponsor's Proposal No. 1-39, and entitled "Project to construct building to care for various athletic and social activities for boys and men," all those certain funds, materials and equipment as set in such project proposal, as the Sponsor's contribution, and being in the total amount of $37,053,70, and that such funds allocated from and constitute a charge 4gai nst the Park Fund of said City. Motion seconded by Klderman Bebb and carried. A petition of citizens requesting the installation of traffic signal lights on Harrison Street at 1cGregor Street and Wilson Street was presented to the Board of Aldermen. PI-owed by Alderman Bebb that the petition requesting installation of traffic lights on Harrison Street at NcGz•egor Street and Wilson Street be accepted by the Board and ordered filed, and that final action on said request be deferred until the Board has opr)ortunity to review the r sults of a recent traffic survey in connection vdth this request. h otion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Council authorize adjustment of personal and property taxes, and settlement of same, as outlined in the following schedule. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board of Aldermen authorize and order paid ten dollars (A10.00) to Ray Holder, Attorney for fees incident to the matter of State tax aid for municipalities. Yotion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried. loved by Alderman Naylor that J. II. Crouch, City Clerk be appointed Acting City Manager during absence of the City Lanager from the City.
