M. on the above date in the Council Room in theMemotal Auditorium with the following members present: W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor Edwin A. Bebb, 1 J. W. Fitzpatrick, Pat Hardage , H. J. Naylor, j Jas. M. Williams, Frank Wolf, J. Bryan [filler, City Manager J J. H. Crouch, City Clerk T. A. Hicks, City Attorney The Minutes of the meeting of October 31st were read. Moved by Alderman Bebb that theMinutes of the regular meeting of October 31st be approved as read. ORDINANCE NO. 1279 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT BEFORE THE CITY OF WICHIT.A FALLS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KI14D TO A PERSON INJURED, SUCH PERSON OR SOME ONE FOR HI4, SHALL GIVE THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY NOTICE,, IN WRITING OF SUCH INJURY WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE SAME HAS BEEN RECEIVED, GIVING THE DETAILS OF SUCH INJURY, NAMES OFVrITNESSES AND ETC. ------------------ Moved by Alderman Hardage that Ordinance No. 1279 be passed on 2nd reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried by the following vote: Yeas: Alderman Bebb , Hardage , Fitzpatrick, Williams, Wolf. and Naylor. Nays: None . Sealed bids on the houses secured by reason of purchase ofright of way for Highway No. 30 were opened by the Mayor disclosing high bidders as follows: W. C. Wither , houses at 507 Holliday and 1402 - 6th, $250.00; D. L. Holder, house at 1400 - 6th, 100.00; J. H. Goins, house at 1404 - 6th Street , $61.00. Moved by Alderman Naylor that high bids offered for houses secured in the purchase of the right of way for Highway 30, be accepted and approved , and authorize the execution of bills of sties forsaid houses on payment in cash for said houses. Motion seconded by Alderman. Hardage and carried. ----------------- A petition by citizens to restrict the sale ofbeer and other intoxicants to specified areas as set out in said petitions wa.s received ,by the boerd and read by theclerk. Mayor Fitzgerald referred this petition to the City Attorney forstudy to ascertain the powers of the City in respect to the matters petitioned. ----------------- Moved by Alderman Wolf that the Council authorize ad- justment of personal and propety taxes and statement of same as outlined in thefollowingsehedule: Motion seconded by Alderman Iiardege and carried. Scott to opwate a public dance hall without providing a special police officer �so long as the police department finds the operating conditions of Van' s Pig Stand generally satis- factory and law abiding. --- ------------- ORDINANCE NO. 1230 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING$ ANDFIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION IN THE CITY OFWICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR A. D. 1938, AND LEVYING All OCCUPATION TAX ON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE UNDER THELAWS OF THE STATE OFTEXAS AND THE CHRTER AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY. Moved by Alderman Bebb that Ordinance 1280 be passed on it' s first reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried by the following vote: Yeas: .Alderman Bebb, Hardage , Fitzpatrick, Williams, Wolf and Naylor.
