The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls met in regular session
at 8:00 P. M. on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium with
the following members present:
W. E. Fitzgerald, Mayor
J. W. Fitzpatrick,
Jas. M. Williams,
Pat Hardage, Alderman

J. Bryan 11iller, City Manager
Geo. T. Henderson, Acting City Clerk
T. A. Hicks, City Attorney
The Minutes of the regular meeting of Tune 18th were read.
Moved by Alderman Williams that the Minutes of the regular meeting of
June 18th be approved as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried.
Moved by Alderman Wolf that the City Clerk be authorized to draw war-
rants and place same in escrow in the City National frank subject to approval of
title of certain tracts of land for Highway No. 30, as follows:
H. A. Waller, Lots 6 & 7, Block 1, $6200.00
S. Y. Ferguson, Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, :Block 5, $500.00
Standard Building & Loan Association, Lot B, Block 244, $1,000.00
and further authorize the City Clerk to draw warrant to J. A. Kemp Estate for Lots
1 to 10, inclusive, Block 3; Lots 1, 2 & 3, Block 11; $1,300.00; and Lots 24 & 25,
Block 3; $200.00; when at such time the said J. A. Kemp Estate agrees to accept the
sum of $100.00 each for all fifteen lots owned by the Kemp Estate above described.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried.

Moved by Alderman Williams that tax refund in the sum of $12.85 be allow-
ed to Home Owners Loan Corporation on Lot 11, Block 251, Original Townsite, on
account of double payment; also that tax refund in the sum of $$9.38 be allowed to
Chas. Illullins on Lot 14, Block 51, Floral Heights Addition, on account of homestead
exemption.
Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried.
Moved by Alderman Wolf that the request of 0. M. Reeves for refund of
$90.00 on his Piaster Plumber's License be denied, and that the City Clark be in-
structed to proceed at once to collect an additional sum of $90.00 from Ben
Richmond for balance due on his Master Plumber's License which was issued as a
renewal license whereas same should have been issued as a new license under
Ordinance No. 1255.

Moved by Alderman Hardage that the petition of A. G. Deatherage and Harry
Votsberger requesting the closing of streets and alleys in Blocks 400, 401, 402 and
40Z, Highland Addition, and Lots 11to 9, inclusive, Block 7, Grant Street Addition,
more pal!jic4 Lrly described in the following petition, be granted, and is hereby
ordered closed.

TO THE HONORABLE COMMISSIONERS COURT, WICH1TA COUNTY, TEXAS
AND CITY COUNCIL, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
Now comes A. G. Deatherage and Harry Votsberger, residents of Wichita
County, Texas, petitioners, praying for the cancellation of a portion of a subdivision
of land in Wichita County, Texas, within 5 miles of the limits of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and would respectfully show the Court and Council the following:
That as shown in Vol. 1, page 23, of the Plat Records of Wichita County,
Texas, there is shown the plat of the Highland Addition Mich is not within the city
limits, and as shown on page 109, Vol. 3, of the Plat records is the plat of the Grant
Street Addition to Wichita Falls, Texas , which is not in the city limits but both are
within 5 miles of the city limits.
That your petitioner, A. G. Deatherage, is the owner of Blocks 400, 401,
402 and 403 of the Highland Addition; that your petitioner Harry Votsberger is the
owner of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Block 7 of the Grant Street ilddition,
and that said Grant Street Addition covers the same territory, insofar as the above
lots and block numbers, as a portion of the Highland Addition, said Block 7, of the
Grant Street Addition cowering portions of the same land as I:ots 398, 399, 404, 405
and 443 of the Highland Addition;
That your petitioners desire a revocation of the streets and alleys over,
through or in said block of said additions above described. That the streets and
alleys were never dedicated to the public use in the Highland Addition; that said
property is all connected and has all been fenced for more than 10 years and has
never been used by the public for any use whatsoever, and said land be placed back
into acreage.
That your petitioners desire that said streets and alleys as shown be re-
voked from said additions and be placed back into acreage for their own use and
enjoyment.
Al,EREFORE, your petitioners pray that an cyder be entered revoking the
above described portions of said additions.

loved by Alderman Williams that City Attorney Hicks be instructed to pre-
pare a Deed conveying a part of Blocks 5 to 12, inclusive, Cannon Park Addition, to
the State highway Department, and authorize hayor 1 . E. Fitzgerald to properly
execute the same; said Deed being a correction deed and issued in lieu of that
certain tract of land previously conveyed to the State Highway Department by the
City of vichita Falls as described in Volume 103, page 355, Deed Records of Vichita
County, Texas.

Moved by Alderman Williams that the Soard of Aldermen of the city of
'Wichita Falls authorize the execution for and on behalf of the city of d ichita
Falls for that certain Zorks Progress Administration Project Proposal, Sponsor's
Proposal No. 4-38, and being; a project of city wide improvement of all parks and
cemeteries, and, further, that a . :. Fitzgerald, i,.ayor of the City of V°ichita I"alls,
be authorized to execute such project as the Sponsor's agent, and that 1. Bryan
11iller, City Manager, be authorized to execute such project proposal as the fiscal
officer of said City.

1yoved by Alderman Vailliems that the hoard of Aldermen of the City of
v:ichita Falls do hereby allocate and set aside to that certain project described
in V orks Progress administration Project Proposal, Sponsor's Proposal No. 4-38,
and entitled "Project of city wide improvement of all parks and cemeteries", all
those certain funds, materials and equipment as set in such project proposal, as
the Sponsor's contribution, and being in the total amount of �38,226.00, and that
such funds allocated from and constitute a charge against the Park 'Fund of said City.

Block Z, Riv-erside Cemetery, to Mrs. Olive Davis.

City Manager, J . Bryan hililler, reported that application for a fire plug in
the 600 block on Juarez Street could not be installed at the present time due to the
fact that there are no water mains close by that block but that the ity has in-
cluded water mains for this vicinity in a certain'?.*ffi.A. Project ApplicationX now
pending.
Moved by Alderman Hardage that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Alderman Williams and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
