Wichita :Falls, Texas Memorial Auditorium Building Lay �Q, 1938 The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls rm t in regular session on the above date in the Council Room in the Memorial Auditorium at 8:00 P. M. with the following members present: E. Fitzgerald, mayor Edwin A. Bebb, J. W. Fitzpatrick, � Pat Hardage, h. J. Naylor, Aldermen J. M. Williams, � Frank Wolf, 1. Bryan Iiller, City Manager J. H. Crouch, City Clerk �. A. Hicks, 'City E,ttorney The %'inutes of the regular meeting of May 23rd were read. Moved by Alderman Bebb that the Minutes of the regular meeting of May 23rd be approved as read. ?.-otion seconded by Alderman Wolf and carried. ,1,he City Mamger recommender? to the Board that consideration for the installation cf traffic signal light at Seventh & Burnett be deferred until Highway No. 30 is finally constructed through the city on the Sixth Street route. Loved by Alderman Bebb that the Board approve payment of $75.00 cold storage charges accrued on relief corm odities. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried. Moved by Alderman Naylor that J. H. Crouch, City Clerk, be appointed Clerk of the Corporation Court with authority to serve either in person or by deputy. Motion seconded by Aldermen Hardage and carried. At the request cf the Mayor, the Clerk read notice dated June 1, 1938, certifying as sufficient a petition filed with the Board May 23, 1938, requesting submission to the voters proposals relative to construction of municipal water and light plants. Mayor Fitzgerald suggested to the Board that proper action be taken in conformity with the charter provisions in the appointment of a committee of the Council to which said matter be referred for public hearing and that said committee be authorized to make any investigation deemed necessary under said committee's own rule. The Mayor's suggestion was discussed by members of the Board, resulting in suggestions by Aldermen Wolf and Bebb that a comrdttee of three be appointed by the Mayor and that the Mayor act as Chairman of said Committee for public hearings and investigation relative to petition referred to above. Thereupon Mayor Fitzgerald appointed a committee of Aldermen composed of Aldermen Williams, Naylor, Bebb and Wolf. Moved by Alderman Naylor that the application of F. L. Palmer for tax refund in the sum of $3.43 on Lot 2, Block 101, Floral Heights, be denied. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board authorize and order transfer of $11,000 from the Water Fund to the Sinking Fund. Motion seconded by Alderman Bebb and carried. Moved by Alderman Williams that the Board authorize the Clerk to approve certain license dated May 27, 1938, for water line service connection; said license executed by Wichita Falls Homestead Association and duly approved by all parties concerned there with. Motion seconded by Alderman Hardage and carried. Moved by Alderman Hardage that Chauffeur's Licenses be grantted to H. W. Whitworth and William Lewis Wilson. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitzpatrick and carried.
